2023 NFL Draft Gameday Thread

How many picks will the Ravens make in the first 2 days of the draft?

  • Total voters
    20
  • Poll closed .
This draft has a much better set of midround CBs than WRs. It was get a WR now or probably don't get one at all.
But if you go CB then you have 2 solid WRs and Andrews plus a great RB room. That is a very good set of weapons to pair with a great OLine. The same cannot be said of the defense right now.

JPJ or Cam Smith. I had both significantly higher than Zay.

i am not a big fan of JPJ - i like him, but i feel like he's been a little overrated in the process because of his dad
nice prospect but never comfortable with him anywhere except late 1/early 2

had zay and cam smith stacked together on the board - but NFL clearly lower on Smith than some of us

We talking about The Ravens that value special teams. the same team that hasn't had a pro bowl kick returner since Jacoby Jones which was over 5 years ago until Devin Duvernay came. Unless John Harbaugh has changed or a cheaper players just simply proves to be better than Duvernay if not just as good then i'm not seeing it yet.

zay flowers can return

Idk... I think JPJ has 90% of Sauce upside. And yeah don't know why NFL is low ON Smith

Two WRs that have a lot of trouble actually finishing a season.
Same could be said of Lamar but they are still going for it anyway. If you going in on people defying recent injury history might as well go all in. Basically most of the Ravens have trouble staying healthy after all. Have to hope new strength team fixes that.

and also we're talking about a secondary that has 3 of its 5 starting DBs locked
we've got Geno to come in and play that 3rd safety role and brandon stephens to be that CB 3/dime and/or be one of those starting 5 DBs in nickel potentially in certain looks

we're only looking for 1 starter at CB, same as we were at WR and we've got much more interesting depth behind our starters at CB vs WR

JPJ doesnt move like Sauce, doesnt have the burst and flexibility and CoD that made Sauce special - wasnt super technically sound in press off the ball and doesnt have the fluidity or twitch to be that elite superstar CB straight away the way sauce was

he's got rare length, good physicality (although was guilty of being over-aggressive), and isnt super versatile - he's a press corner only

would have been toolsy and exciting in baltimore but idk that id have been in love with that pick

idk why DJ was so surprised by anton harrison sneaking into R1
thought he was clearly in that broderick jones, paris johnson stack at OT

Bresee was such a tough eval. Had moments where he looked like Jalen Carter on the tape and others where he shouldn’t have even been drafted. Very curious to see how his career turns out.
