The 2023 Offseason Thread

Well, for the sake of many people on here, I would pray like hell that Joey Porter Jr doesn't have a better year than Zay Flowers. Because this offseason is going to be rough for some if he does...
Unless flowers out there dropping everything and cant get open, its gonna be hard for joey to have a better season..

you hoping porter have a better season so that you can have something to say?

If they’re both really good this year I’d still be happy with Flowers, we needed to find Lamar a young wR to grow with on both their contracts. Next year CB gonna be the obvious objective in the off season

Well I mean I think holding fans accountable for their opinions or how they want to construct the roster would seem fair would it not?

My overall premise would be...
Are their situations where the offense is really good without Flowers being a critical part of it? Of course there are. I think there's many versions of the offense where that's true.
Are their situations where the defense is going to be really good with Marlon Humphrey missing significant time? I don't think there are any.

If you're saying they went too WR-heavy this offseason, I agree with you, but the draft is the draft.

We didn't need a Safety last season, but Hamilton looks like a good pick. A lot of people thought we didn't need Marlon either. If they think Zay Flowers is the next Antonio Brown or whatever, they'd have been stupid not to pick him. It's the Odell contract I'd like to have back.

Either is fine.
My premise since the beginning was that rebuilding the WR room didn't need to be a one year project. It just really wasn't that important, but a lot of people seemed to think the NFL was ceasing operations after 2023.

And because we turned it into a one year project, other positions didn't get the upgrades they needed. And today, people are getting a good view of what that has the potential to look like.

That had a lot of intangibles with Odell

Apparently it was lingering and they wanted to take care of it now instead of later. Well if that’s the case why was Marlon out there, unless it’s something that happened very recently

You on that holier than thou bullshit again?

Thank you. Well could be worse. Maybe we should just make the trade deadline move now. We all knew it was coming anyway, just pull the trigger. A half healthy RYS is not CB1 lolol

the only benefit to waiting on a big trade is that better players become available for cheaper closer towards the deadline - before teams that are disappointing start shedding talent for picks

I LOVE zay. That being said I said on draft night it was probably a mistake to not take JPJ

Maybe, maybe not. That might not even be the mistake. Maybe there's no mistake at all.

Or the mistake may just be the normal mistake the fans, and in this case, the GM, may make. In this case, the mistake may have been overreacting to the last thing we saw, over-compensating for it, and then fake pretending like its surprising when we wake up and realize "fuck, you mean WRs don't cover other WRs too...".

Maybe harbaugh should be less of a sensitive little power hungry bitch
Peters has been ditched now by three teams. Harbs isnt perfect but he isn’t the problem …

Our offense would likely be really good without any one pass catcher on our team not being a critical part of it so….we also have no cbs at all without hump so thats very obvious..its either an obvious choice for your or a very broad one, leaving yourself very little or no room for error. You dnt have the confidence to make a prediction? Its okay for your prediction to be wrong, but then again you dnt want people to treat you like how you treat them… dam, smart guy. I actually like that though
