The 2023 Offseason Thread

I don’t think the ravens are that concerned about a 1 year 45 mil deal. I think they are looking forward to 2023 and the Burrow and Hurts deals coming. They have not been able to come to terms in 1+ years of negotiations and they may be thinking they never will. the numbers are only going to go up if they can’t get a deal done before the summer deadline. Yes, they risk losing him using the non-exclusive but they may be able to match an offer that is way more cap friendly (or maybe not). If this goes on more then one using the exclusive tag you’d be talking close to 100 mil if they had to do this all over again next year. I think they have legit reasons to consider the non-exclusive.
Franchise tag next year isn't happening. They'll trade him if they get to that point.
I think there's plenty of scenarios where he's here this year on a $45M tag, and the roster just isn't as good as it was last year.
In fact I think that's probably the most likely of all outcomes.

Whats a SB caliber roster? I mean KC literally only has 2 players that make up their SB roster while eagles had the best team assembled this season by far….
a WR room that's better than last year. Plus we'll be losing starters on the Oline, Corner, and likely at Pass rush.

And that would just be to land on-par with the better teams in the Conf. Doesn't even mean we'll beat them either.

Yeah but there is other things to consider using the exclusive. Lamar has the option to not sign it, and he also has the option to not show up until September before he would lose money. I’m just not sure Lamar would be happy with that scenario. But hey, it’s just speculation at this point so who knows how this will play out.

A simple 1st rnd wr would make our wr room better.. What starters would we lose on oline and corner? I feel like both peters and Z are 50/50 regardless if we resign lamar or not. I mean we may lose houston, which would be big cause im sure the front office would love for him to mentor or young guys.

Losing Powers looks inevitable, and Peters would likely price himself out if Lamar is tagged.

1st round WR isn't enough. Likely to lose a lot of the veterans you had last year, possibly cut Duvernay, and then you're just another injury away from having no depth.

And all of that is just to get the roster to the level we were at last year. Campbell, Clark, Edwards, among others, could easily be gone as well. Are we just expecting to hit on all of our draft picks in one year to add depth or starters elsewhere?

Not to mention... do we think its a strong strategy to be pigeon-holed into being forced to take a WR only in the first round?

I want him for the crazy factor, also he plays WR
