The 2023 Offseason Thread

Will also say that I found the Lamar schmoozefest kinda funny. Dude had to be riding high if he was listening in lol

and that may be part of the negotiation too lol

they made it clear that, contrary to recent media speculation, they love him, he's amazing, he's their guy forever, all that other speculation was bullshit (injury stuff, contract stuff) etc. etc.

Also Bateman is for fucking real when healthy. For the love of all that is good and holy, get an OC that can unleash him so we can actually retain him and make this place thr destination it should be

you see it some of his routes - the lower body flexibility and explosion is ridiculous for a guy who's 6 foot

Oh 100% part of the negotiation. Feels abundantly clear the goal is to work something out and if not, biggest bluff of all time.

I'm playing catch up since I had to run to a meeting, but also like how EDC highlighted that all negotiations are different. Mentioned Ronnie took 1.5 years but Mark Andrews only took 3-4 days. That's wild.

OK, now that we've all heard it, all I know is that this offseason is going to be exhausting.

Apart from acknowledging the WR catastrophe and the fact that Powers is likely gone, I really haven't heard anything that they haven't already said on previous occasions.

The only sure thing about Lamar is that there is a mandate from SB on the max number he'll pay and I don't like that.

but i think that's the thing...
dont think it'd be a bluff - just a fumble
Yeah that's fair. I guess bluff in the sense if they already plan to move on and were playing it up today. Fumble if they try and just can't get it done. Guess we'd never really know which was the case but I have my suspicions the latter would be much more likely IF he does end up being moved.

I had to half listen but they said Steve said there is a max amount? Interesting. I think that is part of the negotiation. I'm not sure I buy that.

I am celebrating his new contract by going to my first home game.

I need one of you degenerates to show me around town

They didn't specifically say it but EDC all but confirmed it they won't overpay for Lamar.

Based on what we know of the last offer, what Ravens think that figure is seems much different from the one I have in mind.

just dont see how it could be a bluff tbh

idk that that's what i got from that at all lol

Sure but he would have left it at 'i'm sure we'll get the deal worked out' rather than sending signals with 'we'll do what's best for the team' thing before they even sat at the table again.

I read that as saying they are offering market value, don't see that as a slight to Lamar's camp. He needs to manage his bosses expectations as well.
