Lamar Jackson

My best guess is Lamar thought he was locked in at the exclusive tag making nearly 50 mil. Possible second tag next year or a trade, both situations he is making a ton of money in a two year period.

Now he is pissed and confused that he is looking at the non exclusive and far less
He is very pissed is my guess and will possibly demand a trade when it’s all over .

Lamar’s face during the negotiations:

Watching Stevie B with the money he's brought the franchise....

There is truth to your post no doubt but Lamar has won nothing in 5 years other than a NFL MVP personal honor.
He hasn't played well in the playoffs. That said, the only consistent player I remember on offense was Hollywood. Run game has done nothing. Blocking not good. The only other consistent aside from the 19 Titans game has been the defense. He doesn't have the wins like a previous QB but he's also been asked to do more what I think are less talented rosters.

Andrews and Ricard have been pretty steady.

One is a fb lol and Andrews been shaky in the post season. I do think if Lamar plays the last 2 years Andrews might have big games though but we've seen how that's gone. I 100% get the franchises stance but also get where Lamar is coming from.

What do you mean, "good news for the Ravens?"

What happened to stick a fork in 'em???? LMAO.
Well , Lamar is still the best option we have though I do think he will demand a trade or hold out.

So yeah i think WE WILL STICK A FORK IN HIM and trade him.

Do you think i could trademark that saying?

You know, something I was just thinking. If no one makes Lamar an offer on this nonexclusive (we originally thought that would be great), it could actually have really negative consequences.

Imagine if Lamar says ok, nobody wants to give up the draft capital, money, and negotiate with me during the FA period when it's not a guarantee they'll get me. Fine, I'll play this year on the tag, hopefully stay healthy and get some playoff success. Then I'll be a UFA (or we put an extremely high second tag on him) and he can go test the waters with no restrictions at all. At which point he'll probably find many suitors.

2nd tag is actually fairly manageable now that we went non-exclusive

and there's a little bit of extra leverage earned back by the ravens because Lamar can't wait it out and be paid market value on the tags right now either - he's getting well below market value on this year's tag now so he's beginning to lose money vs what he'd get on an extension

the risk now is that there are relationships here that cant be fixed...

i dont understand why 133m seems to be the ravens redline in terms of fully guaranteed money when in reality they're offering basically 175m fully guaranteed (only way he doesnt get that extra 42m is if he retires before 2024 as far as im aware)
The Ravens putting the ball in his court was a master stroke. He has no leverage but to play. If he comes in late, quibbles about signing - he's not doing anything to help himself, it just puts more pressure on him to have to deliver in an injury-free season. Anything less than the numbers near 2019 and a full season hurt him. Next year, even if he has a great year and is still pulling this stuff - that we don't understand with balking at $133 plus injury guarantees - put us in a situation again of just putting the non-exclusive on him. If he has a less than stellar year he's foolish not to work something out. If he has a great year, the suitors line up and if we can't sign him we definitely get the 2, 1st round picks and we move on.

I actually think that is the game the Ravens are playing. The onus is now on him. Yet some dumb team might give him what he wants and then we don't have to worry about it anymore anyway.

Gotta say I could see Ravens fans booing him early on if he ends up playing for us. This is still a blue collar town that don't like primadonnas

No chance in hell lmao. The city of Baltimore loves the man

Lamar is getting awfully bad advice from the NFLPA, his mother or both. He should have signed an agent to begin with, Roquan didn't have a agent and got his deal done. Other players have gotten deals done with us without an issue. Simply put, this is all on Lamar.
