Lamar Jackson

as was winning a playoff game
as was getting past the divisional round

they've overcome these sorts of hurdles before
And I think they will. With how crazily competitive the AFC is, we're not gonna get that many opportunities to overcome the AFCCG hurdle. To @JoeyFlex5 's point, the biggest culprit, TO ME, is them pressing the issue on every possession.

I stg we can't again go away from what went well on offense despite the game being in reach.

I think he will learn from it and will be a great player for us but the Flowers fumble just killed our momentum that game, I think Lamar was about to turn the tide for us. The bank was about to be the loudest it ever would be the next drive, we got robbed of that.
Didnt lamar throw an int after that?

We feel like we gotta score every time we have the ball because we know the chiefs and have seen how hard they are to stop in one score games. One possession lead never feels secure.
We did need to score, but not on 2nd and 10, and not by throwing into triple coverage. Like you said, at that point of the game the D had them locked down.

Can’t dwell on what did/didn’t happen if you wanna win.

Agreed. A lot of things didn’t go well at many points in that game, but that game was about to turn in a way that I don’t think the chiefs would’ve been able to handle if zay scores there. The defense locked tf in like I’ve never seen a defense do before, and then we aren’t in desperation mode throwing triple coverage lobs to likely in the endzone. I think if zay holds onto the ball and scores we go to the Super Bowl. Our defense was too damn good.
Ugh, now I can’t think about football again. Damn it

Right, but it was a little more desperate mode (but also not quite). I don’t think that happens if Zay scores but of course we’ll never know
If Zay scores maybe KC plays offense differently and scores more. You just don’t know how things would have played out.

Dont know who it was but a guy on top 100 said something about lamar rolling out right means he looking to pass and if he roll left he running.. i wonder how accurate that is

i don't think it's that accurate. He probably does throw more rolling right but that's only due to him being right handed.

You're right. He's always looking to throw (too much honestly, sometimes I wish he'd just go when he gets out there.) It's just that there are more throws available to a righty when he's moving that way, and the throws are harder and lower % to the left, so he decides to run more.

Interesting , would need to break down the film to verify. Same thing happened with Brady and his stance giving away pass /run. But I believe that turned out to be bogus, only 50 some percent accurate.

The GM, coach ranking, Lamar once again kept out of tier one, Allen and Burrow in, complete and utter joke. The GM that said he doesn’t care if Lamar wins 10 MVPs he ain’t a QB probably votes in this

Telling me someone can win 10 MVPs is out of control.

Imagine a scenario where Lamar wins let's say 6 MVPS and No Superbowls.

Is he not then going to be at least a top 6 QB all time

It's because he isn't "quarterbacky." Anyone who doesn't acknowledge Lamar as the second best qb of this generation is either an idiot or a racist. Unlike Allen and Burrow, Lamar has already cemented himself as a Hall of Famer

This poll really bugs me because allegedly it’s coaches and GMs, and they’ve voted burrow tier 1 the last 3 seasons. Now someone did say echo your sentiments in one of the below excerpts:

Jackson surged to the brink of Tier 1 with more top-tier votes this year (23) than he commanded over the previous three combined (20).

“He’s a fantastic dual-threat guy, he’s explosive, he’s dangerous,” an offensive coach said. “This past year, with (new Ravens offensive coordinator Todd) Monken, I thought he took a big step and became a passer. To me, it was so different from the previous years.”

The line between being a good passer and expertly handling pure-pass situations like Baltimore faced while trailing Kansas City in the playoffs is what kept Jackson a few votes away from joining Mahomes, Burrow and Allen in the top group.

For some, Jackson transcends the criteria.

“I just think putting an MVP of this league in Tier 2 is being on some quarterback high horse of what we think it’s supposed to look like,” a voter who placed Jackson in Tier 1 said.

Faring better in the playoffs, where he has a career 75.7 passer rating and a 2-4 record despite strong defensive support, might push Jackson over the top.

“He’s a 1 with limitations for me,” a defensive coordinator said. “You can win a lot of games with him. When you watched it against Kansas City, he can’t pass when he has to. That is still true. But he is still a wonderful football player.”

I love how this idiot is ignoring how kc's DB's were holding onto our receivers all game and committed multiple DPIs that went uncalled to make a point about Lamar's passing ability despite that Lamar has shown he can absolutely win a game with his arm

The last sentence sums it up perfectly. Lamar needs to play well, and throw the ball well when he has to in the tournament to get over the top as a quarterback. Doesn’t mean he isn’t a remarkable football player.

he needs to play twice as good as any QB to get recognition as a top tier QB in this league. People are just idiots.
