Way-Too-Early Prospect Watch: 2019

man I hate walterfootball mock drafts sometimes.
They got us drafting trevon diggs, bama cb at pick 15 over greedy williams, Montez Sweat, and deionte thompson.
Ya i saw that.....its dumb cause Greedy is a top 10 pick and we go with an injured corner who has half a year of experience lol

They just pencil in an Alabama player and move on.

Edit: If we did go with an Alabama player, it should be Ross Pierschbacher. We could finally have a great center, or guard if Bozeman works out at C.

There is no way Pierschbacher is a first rounder.
We can't just go draft any G/C in mid/late 1st because we need one.

Just because they’re from Alabama doesn’t mean we should draft them high. I think Ross would be a terrible first round pick. There should be much better talent there.

I couldn’t agree more with you here. I think the 3rd round is strong for OL but I find the first round underwhelming

Would we have to reach to get one, though? I'm not saying it would be a good idea, but I thought that a lot of the OL were picked earlier than expected last year.

I guess it depends on who else is there and it also depends on whether you really want to reach on an OL. I think that’s a mistake because teaching is how we got into mediocrity in the first place.

It seems like whenever there's a position that's particularly stacked in a class, the teams that get it on it get absolute steals. Happened with the 2017 RB class and 2014 WR class. Hopefully this year the Ravens take at least one of these pass rushers.

Edge: Bosa, Burns, Sweat, Polite, Ferrell, D Walker, Ferguson, Gary, Ximines, Z Allen, J Allen
DT: Q Williams, Oliver, Simmons, Davis, D Jones, D Brown, D Lawrence, Tillery, R Lawrence, Kinlaw

Haven't studied all of these guys by any means, and of course some will return to school and/or get injured, but man that is some serious draft eligible talent.

I like both Ferguson and ximines in the third

I know I included him in my article but I have had my eye on Porter Gustin for a couple of years now. The dude is injury prone but he's got the tape of a really good pass rusher. He's a reverse Tim Williams of sorts. Williams was a great athlete in college burst wise and could beat you in a multitude of ways. Gustin doesn't have speed, he's just strong as an ox and has pass rushing moves to go with it and solid closing speed. He'd be an ideal compliment as I do think Tim develops into a very good edge rusher... Just please play him more. He's not a first rounder but I think if healthy he's going to be a good player. He's not a first rounder but I think he's a good one.

You guys haven't mentionned Chase Winovich but his tape looks really good. Looks like an early 2nd type of gu to me.

If he's in the second at all then we don't have much chance of drafting him. Not unless we get some picks for a Flacco or Harbaugh trade.

I was actually surprised by where some guys were picked

There was a mix for me on an individual basis at OL where some were over drafted but a surprising number were under drafted also

Will Hernandez, Connor Williams, Orlando brown to name just 3 who fell too far

Lamont Gaillard despite not being a 100% healthy, impressed me once again. First he helps out his G then moves into the second level to make a key block on a LB to open a gap for Swift. This is the C I want Decosta to draft

He’s a beast and we need him here. One of my favorite players in the draft.
