Welcome to the Ravens, Hayden Hurst and Lamar Jackson

When one is calling out the bust of all busts...the Bust Supremo of this NFL Draft, one has reasons. They can say we didn't bust out with our first pick and we didn't ! Truth be told, Hurst should be useful, but he's just already aged. (Hes coming into his "get paid" years!) No, I'm calling bust on the guy picked after him that we gave up way too much to obtain. Two 2nds and a fourth! I still feel absolutely gut shot at that development. And what makes it most comical is that he would have been there in the 2nd round for us!!!! We had the 16th pick prior to all the moves right? I still feel sick, gutshot is the word.! But this one will cinch what I really want, which is renovation at the top. Give us some innovative thinkers and give us an early position in the draff to hire em!!! That's what I want!

The poor kid can't read a field to save his life. Most of it is read option. Go back and watch some film of how lost he gets. This kid is Tim Tebow without the body to withstand the hits. Its gonna fail Spectacularly. I love it. Because Bisciotti will be apprised!! and this time it will influence the real change that we need.

Joe Flacco is gonna feel like Tom Brady when this kid gums it up.

Start packing Decost. I know this one was you! Mr. Tradeback!!!.....lol
Lmao Louisville offense is not read option. Lamar went through to his second read the second most in the draft. I feel like you’re just trolling everyone on the board hahaha

You ask people to watch tapes to prove your claim of him not being able to read defenses.
Either you fell asleep on those plays in which he displays the exact opposite, or you didn´t watch any yourself.
I took like houndreds of screenshots that prove you wrong but my mobile won´t allow me to upload them due to their size.. I guess I´ll have to do the same from my pc and it will take a shitload of time that I don´t have anymore. But I´m sure you know it all and you just keep trolling us all, anyway.

I say welcome too.

The niceties extended, be apprised that RayRayRaven has been on the advant garde of our current franchise decay since its inception in 2012-2013. The fall from grace the Raven's have experienced has not only been discussed objectively by RayRay, it has also been anticipated and projected. RayRayRaven literally despises this draft, but I know he also welcomes it, because it brings closer the day that he has longed for ever since our franchise was attacked from within.

I would advise you to scan the threads for his posts, first read them, and thereafter read the other posts in those threads. In short order you'll understand the issues obscured by the forum's pontification and realize being a fan is one thing, but knowing how to win is something else and that for the time being, knowing how to win has been lost.

I don't have to advise against reading anyone that suggests ignoring RayRayRaven's posts, because reading their blather will in short order open your eyes to the correctness of the clairevoyant that is RayRayRaven. Now, for this time being, let us move forward in agreement that French is only as good as the understanding of a thing.

:D:D:D. Ok man you continue on in your world. Our Franchise is not perfect but 2 Superbowls in 21 years is more than most Franchise's could dream of.

We still have some big questions to answer roster-wise heading into the new season but on the other hand when you look at the current list of players there could be some tough choices to get us down to our 53.

correct, he is running the Erhardt Perkins scheme, the same system that the Patriots run.

I´m not advocating for Lamar to start soon. I hope he´s given enough time to learn and improve. But in case our Offense is as Red-Zone inefficient as we´ve been in the last couple of years I wish he´s given a chance to run some strong formation schemes.
Because we all know what he´s capable of doing and know his limitations (wide proof of narrow base, bad toes direction and weight transitioning that definitely end up in inaccurate med-long distance throws). What is important to understand is that he brings a totally new package of possibilities when it comes to either zone or man defensive schemes.. and it´s a lot harder to plan and defend when a team has one more weapon in the backfield.

This is just an example, but Lou has run this exact play many times and against different personnel
TE is pulling to the left taking the RE, LT is reaching the second level to block the only LB sitting in that zone.

FB gets the S. RB draws the other 2 LBs into the middle, while Lamar walks onto an easy TD

There´s a ton of 2TE formations that we can just as successfully run with Maxx/Hayden and Boyle pulling. I hate Andrews as a blocker, even on the move. He makes no sense in our case. I´ll watch some more in the next weeks to get a better idea on the player tho.

This is one other red zone play that we played a lot under Kubiak with Flacco on the Bootleg while the FB goes in the Flat and the TE on the Corner route.

LG pulls to the right, and the other 2 as "shown"

The difference between Lamar and any conventional QB is that in this position, everyone would just throw to #18. The young QB gives you so much versatility that if the LB on the left was playing bail technique following the receiver, he could´ve run straight ahead and probably score as well

Sure there´s a lot to work on but that skillset will give every DC some serious headache.. and for once our O will be exciting to watch

i love thinking about us finally having a pick your poison to our offense, haven't had it since "defend deep with Torrey and jacoby or defend short with pitta and boldin or let ray rice kill you on checkdowns"

Now we have pick your poison with ONE player

I'm considering mark andrews to be a WR and a very good one at that.
Same. He's a safety valve, he's elite at getting open against the zone, and with Lamar Jackson at qb our TEs likely face very little man coverage, no defense will risk blowing the middle open and turning their backs to Lamar Jackson

Yup. Lamar has spent a total of like 5 days on the team and he has already received more help than Flacco ever has

yeah ive just spent the last few hours looking at lasley film and the drops really arent as bad as they look statistically - he has a few too many concentration drops but nothing that's necessarily bad and certainly not indicative of bad hands - and then a lot of his drops ive noticed are catches that are legitimately difficult to make - its the ball being put where only he has a chance at it but its not a big chance...

that doesnt absolve him of his drop issues but they really arent a fundamental problem with his game

we've added 4 receivers all of whom have something to provide to this offence - i spent all this offseason saying we dont take enough chances on skill position players high and we took 2 in 4 picks in days 1 and 2 as well as adding a presumptive day 2 talent and a 4th rounder too...

the draft is a crap shoot so you have to take chances on players - and we now have a draft that has fully committed to that idea

is anyone else having trouble loading this page? it's been offline a few times today for extended periods.

So he's gotten more help from unproven weapons?

Also the fact Flacco is starting at least 1 more year and will get to use said weapons. The question now is, if Flacco fails with these guys and Lamar somehow succeeded, what would the narrative be?

Fuck a narrative. FLACCO IS AND FOREVER WILL BE ELITE AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT!

Then the narrative would be Flacco is bad, but every weapon Flacco ever had looked worse after separated from him. Remember, how bad Torrie looked without Flacco and Torrie is unquestionably the 3rd best offensive weapon Flacco ever had. People thought SSS was done which is why he got cut suddenly he looks 5 years younger, that cannot be a coincidence.
