2018 Forum Mock: Discussion Thread

Moore is a prospect I wish I've done more homework on. I've seen him talked about as a potential second day prospect. Crazy testing numbers too recently.

I originally saw him against Florida State in that bowl game and thought he had showed enough to be under late round/priority FA consideration. I was able to find a little more tape (not a full game) before the forum mock even started and thought he had a good chance of firmly being a late round guy, but still thought he might be unknown enough to still be a UDFA in this game. This week, he blew up a bit and I had to trust the cut-ups I've seen, because I think there's some real talent there. Figured I'd better take him since I pegged him early as a player of interest.

Makes total sense at this point. Get a player with early round traits. If they succeed, it's a pat on the back. If they don't, then the investment lost isn't catastrophic.

Like several recent picks, Herndon has a chance to get picked a few rounds before the seventh. Very high ceiling, although pretty raw. Similar to Njoku in that aspect.

I like him as a person and I didn’t feel like finding out who was still there hahah. Also if cliff has a broken neck oh well
For what it's worth, I ran the details by two different people prior to sending over the offer and they told me that they wouldn't have accepted a 7th for Freeney if they were me, so it's a matter of perspective. He's still incredibly effective as a pass rusher, evidenced by his disruptions per snap, not to mentioned the three sacks in three games last season. And as you've mentioned, he fills a significant spot of being an insurance RE behind Avril's serious medical concerns.

It's hard to get overly excited about Jordan Akins because of his age. He's actually the oldest draftable TE prospect in the class, set to turn 26 in a couple of weeks. That will likely tumble him down the board, and he likely won't develop much physical beyond what he currently is. But I like the tape and I like his skill-set. I feel like he could be considered as arguably one of the better pure receiving TEs in this class in that respect. He's got an NFL-ready build at least as far as the eye test goes, and those whopping 29 reps at his Pro Day help solidify that point. I was hoping on double-dipping with Conklin and Akins, but at least I landed one of them.
