Why´s that? I get the first round pick is the most important one in the draft but it´s "just" one pick, it´s not like you´re automatically losing/failing all the others as well. Draft a player is like calling a play, if it works it´s the right one, if it´s wrong that singular pick is wrong.
Failing to call multiple plays and multiple picks every year is what hinder seasons.
Also, it´s not like Flacco has been playing with any poise for the last few years. If one of the top 4 QB is really falling to us and we pick him, he´ll be building confidence and fill in as the starter in 2 years, when Flacco contract is about to run out and thus when you have the leverage to eventually trade him.
Drafting a QB in our specific situation, with this crazy class, is not the end of the world.
