The Oweh, The INT and THE OMG WE DID IT!!!

This is correct, but we also were on the rookie contract. Wolfe isn't an expensive contract and Zeitler is a pretty reasonable contract for the caliber player he is also. We will occasionally sign a bigger contract now and again, but we will most likely have to build through the draft with Jackson's contract on the horizon. That being said I'm not saying we won't make the signing here and again.

we paid defence and drafted offence - now we're starting to pay those ascendant offensive players and we've already seen the start of a defensive draft-based overhaul with Queen, Madubuike, Harrison, Oweh and Stephens all day 1 or 2 picks in the last 2 years

it's more than just not resetting the market. Ever since EDC became manager, the Ravens have been great at structuring contracts that benefit the team long term.
I dnt think we have had anyone that would be even worth resetting the market for.. andrews wasnt worth resetting the market and no way was hump getting more than ramsey..

I'd be willing to bet almost anything that Murray is the starting RB next week. I know Harbs still has shivers running down his spine from Williams having 2 fumbles in 2 games.

Freeman did not look bad on that long run he had.

Wonder what the hold up is with Bell.

he didn't practice all offseason and wasn't in Football shape. That being said all the others were in camp this offseason, whether that be here (Williams) or in New Orleans (Murray / Freeman). Freeman may be a better fit in this offense, while Bell's patient running style may not fit our scheme.

Bell I believe was signed before news broke of Murray being cut. I feel like Murray is perhaps filling a lot of Bell’s role, except for the receiving which Williams is not bad at whatsoever

My reaction to this win was reminiscent of how I felt when Flacco finally beat the Steelers for the first time. Tough game, emotional finish. If I recall correctly, that was also on a Sunday night.
Unrelated, but that was also the game in which the stadium in Pittsburgh played 'What's Your Name, Little Girl' while showing Flacco's stats.

Bell atleast was elite at breaking tackles though. Murray is one of the worst in the league. Bell may get an opportunity, but at this point we should be good with Williams / Murray / Freeman. Have to say I am more than a bit curious to see how Bell would be here, but a bit concerned with the fit.

49ers RB room are dropping like flies now. I wonder if they’ll snipe bell from our practice squad at this point

they didn't do that again

I think this is an excellent point, ross! We have finally hit on some OFF weapons in Hollywood, Lamar, some Oline guys, a TE, maybe WR, and RB's. It is time to get ready to pay them and go to the draft to rebuild a DEF that is a little heavy on FA money. Get some younger guys in there on rookie deals and payoff the OFF for a cycle and then hopefully do the same with the OFF when it comes necessary. I'm more confident in our ability to find DEF gems than OFF in the draft.

The one point I think essential is: we can't keep everyone and we have to be quick to identify who we can trade for additional draft capital just as we did with Zeus Jr.

That’s not a fit at all imo, I can’t see how bell would be the least bit productive in a shanahan run game, he completely lacks the most important trait of one step acceleration
that's why I said "interesting" fit. @Sizzle understood what I was saying. I agree he's a completely different style of runner. I can see how my statement came across wrong.

I'm not sure how he fits here either.

Bell probably..

yeah he's a way better fit in our offence than theirs lol - and if you have doubts about the fit in our offence then there's no way you think he works in that shanahan scheme
