2018 Free Agency

If Jimmy didn't get hurt again, we don't pick up Carr's option. Yeah we miss out on WRs but I'm sure Ozzie has something up his sleeve. Wouldn't be surprised if we are trying to get Dez from Dallas.

We need a outsider in the front office badly, been doing the same thing every off season and now it's caught up to us using an out of date system. Every other team in the league is using the new school playbook, while we still build teams like its 2000.
Hahahaha. I'd love Dez. I'd love it. The majority of the fanbase would hate it because he's a diva.

Give me an offseason of us getting Sitton, Dez, and drafting Ridley and Hayden Hurst in the first two rounds and I'll be a happy man

if the businesses are making more money - then the players will make more money...
and inevitably contracts will increase until sports stops being sports because inflation naturally happens

the contracts seem ridiculous but they dont exist in a vacuum - if the nfl wasnt making more money than ever then the salary cap wouldnt increase and the contracts wouldnt get bigger...

I get it. I just hate it. Another dick measuring contest where everyone's goal is to be the highest paid ever until the next guy comes and takes that throne.

Dez at $16M tho???? I mean he led the NFL on drops last year. Id want him here just not at $16M

until they find their true market value on an open market (when the salary cap stabilizes or finally becomes so big that teams dont necessarily worry about it) the contracts will increase - eventually the contracts will hit an equilibrium but given the health problems football causes, the product the players make for the NFL as a company and the increasing money the NFL makes - the players are underpaid compared to their peers in other sports (both the guys at the bottom of the roster and the guys at the top)

i think once the contracts hit equilibrium (i dont think we're even close to there yet) then the dick measuring contest will end in terms of needing to be the highest paid guy in the league (that would finally be a true representation of the best player in the league)

Who gives a fuck if you have 2 tackles and the guard is a far superior player

i agree that i dont care about the position be they a tackle or a guard - if the guard is better then you take the guard end of story - but i still have mcglinchey higher on my board than wynn so in that particular situation im taking mcglinchey

I know Darth Jerry said he wants to keep him... But the Cowboys can't afford to keep him and no team would possibly pay him that. He's a cap cut candidate for a reason.
True i thought you meant we trade for him. My coworker is a Cowboys fan and he still thinks Dez is otherworldly lol. He said his numbers were down cause hes always double teamed LMAO!!!!!! Cowbys fans so dumb.....

Him and Dak didn't click. Dez had a few dumb drops though.

I do think Dez is an option even if certain members don't want him.

We are limited to what the market has for us. But since we were never going to solve our issues this way. I am not mad at losing out on the top 3 WRs

It might actually be a benefit to the Cowboys trying to work something out only to potentially cut Dez a week or two from now. Let a lot of the money available dry up and then his market hopefully decreases as well.

did you watch the video that someone on this forum posted showing every single one of his drops/targets - yeah it wasnt about being double-teamed but it wasnt really about bad hands either - it was about dak prescott having the worst ball placement of any qb in the league

Has Albert McClellan been released? Should be a simple way to clear 1+ million.

Wouldn't be shocked if they find a way to finagle a pay cut for him, or they release him and bring him back cheaper. Not a household name but I think they really like him as a leader and as a versatile piece if the need arises. I also wouldn't be shocked if they just kept him at his current number, either.

Ya i saw it. I was quoting my friend from work lol. Dez is bad for Daks growth in my eyes

I won't be shocked either...it's unfortunate we are married to certain players for reasons inexplicable.
It seems,(to me) to be a logical cut to make.

It's not that much in all honesty when you're looking at a replacement player at $500-600K. With McClellan at $1.25M, you're only looking at $650K-$750K in overall savings, which is pretty much negligible in NFL terms. Could be hanging around until we're desperate for that money, but not sure there's any franchise that can't find another way to clear that little amount if they want to keep him.
