2018 Free Agency

OMG WE DID NOT LAND RICHARD SHERMAN
OZZIE NEEDS TO RETIRE
HARBAUGH NEEDS TO KILL HIMSELF
WE NEED TO MOVE THE FRANCHISE TO JACKSONVILLE
0-16

Only signing gonna hurt a lil is if Robinson signs elsewhere. Cuz he is a top8 talent or better. Raw skill wise he is there with Julio Jones. Ravens will not get to many opportunities to sign a freak WR 4 $12million a year. Cuz he is coming off an injury and playing with Bortles. That tandem has his value far below what his skills scream. If he were not coming off an injury and if he played with a competent QB he could very well be commanding a near $100million contract!! He is that freakishly good!! A legit NO.1 in his prime!! Ravens don’t land sex players like that til he is partially washed up. In 2010 we watched Cowboys outwit Ozzie and take Dez. So close to a real NO.1 and did nothing to secure him. Then in round2ravens were leapfrogged by the patriots for Gronk. That is how it plays out in the quest for playmakers. I wouldn’t bet on this year being any different. Losing out on prime playmakers and settling for cheaper cap cuts with diminishing skills. I would be cool with Watkins or Brice Butler and Marqise but probably getting Emmanuel Sanders and or the Crabtree lol

Out of curiosity, are you suggesting Ozzie should've traded out of the 25th slot for the 24th overall pick to avoid the Cowboys jumping us?

Real talk though, Sherman coming off an achilles injury and gets 3/$39M? Interested to see the structure.
What sherman has you cant teach..His football Iq, instincts and ball skills is just far beyond most cbs so its still gonna be a gamble throwing at him. He maybe lost a step but im sure niners wont be putting him mcv much

3 years 39 was wrong anyway as a report - that's the maximum value of the deal with all the incentives and bonuses etc.

Yall seriously over reacting on us not trading for Landry. I mean did you seriously think we would pay him $14+ million a year lol.

Also hearing everyone say the browns have a better roster than us now after adding just 2 players (who are probably overrated tbh) is an over reaction. Landry isnt a top 5 reciever and probably borderline top 10 in this league (if that), and we all saw how limited Tyrod Taylor is last season especially in that playoff game
I dnt care about us not signing landry. TBH i dnt want a top 5 wr. Even if we were to sign a top 5 wr, he wouldnt put up top 5 numbers with us. Id rather just have a group of wrs like we had when we won SB. I dnt remember the last time a top 5 wr even won the SB

While I agree there are exceptions. I don’t believe u could fault an elite WR for not Winning a championship. As u can’t fault Marino for not winning a super bowl. When Rod Woodson said Marino is the best QB he has ever faced. Better than Brady and Manning. He never got the help nor scheme to beat teams far better than his own. Elway won 2 championships late in his career when he wasn’t the QB he was in all the Super Bowl losses. Cuz he finally played with a Super Bowl team and scheme. Manning won a super bowl when his arm was finished.

If an elite WR doesn’t have the team and scheme around him he isn’t gonna win. He is more than capable of making players around him better. But it’s not gonna help if he plays with a bunch of scrubs. While I would prefer a team of top shelf No.2 options as opposed to one elite then scrubs. I would far prefer to have the No.1 to go with a couple legit No.2’s. Now if the coach and QB doesn’t have the scheme and savvy to use the No.1 and No.2’s correctly and to the fullest potential. Then u may as well have the scrubs to go with the No.1. If the dumbass coordinator keeps forcing the ball to AJ Green or Julio Jones and doesn’t use Tyler Boyd types.

The Falcons are shining example of forcing the ball to Julio after losing Shanahan. The new coordinator forcing the ball to Jones is playing right into the game plan of the opposing defense. Although I do believe Gabriel and Sanu are a touch overrated and closer to No.3 WRs. Playing with Julio Jones and a competent Coordinator and QB helped free them up to produce like No.2’s. So an elite freak Wide Receiver like Robinson could help free up our rookies and help them produce. Robinson with one of Jones Chark Cain and Ridley could be a very potent offense. Then throw Miller in the slot and suddenly an average TE becomes productive. Not to mention what it could do to free up the Running backs!!

Landry could easily be a WR 1 on our team. Look at it like this:

Example: We have Wallace and Chris Moore as deep threats, we draft a rookie like Cain to be our future star, but for now he’s our WR 2 or 3. Landry is our guy for intermediate routes. Landry catches 80-90 balls and averages 12-13 yards a catch with a healthy Flacco. I dont care if he’s catching the ball out of the damn backfield, he’s our #1 receiver. Landry can also be a touchdown machine if given the right opportunities. But just because he’s in the slot he wouldn’t be our #1?

It’s 2018, slot WRs are very important. Frankly, I don’t care about paying a slot WR big money, i.e. 12 million. If he’s getting the same production as a #1 WR on the outside, who cares? I don’t.

On a team like the Falcons or Bengals that has a big true #1, Landry can be the best #2 in football. But if he was on the Ravens, just like the Dolphins, he would be OUR #1 and I’d be perfectly fine with that if we have good complimentary pieces.

Nothing you said is wrong and you make a good point. Slot receivers are important but the league will always favor outside receivers more than slot receivers. It's just how things goes even though having a good slot receiver is good for any offense. Landry wanted a contract similar to that of Devante Adams but Adams is a different type of a receiver . Landry one of the better slot receivers in the league and it true that can play some outside receiver as well but unfortunately he's going to probably always be undervalued due to a lack of explosive speed and etc.

Allen Robinson liked the Jimmy's Seafood proposal on twitter.... Their crabcakes may be overrated but right now they're our best recruiting aspect.

Tony Jefferson last season and Eric Weddle prior have shown that the team is willing to pony up money now for bigger name FAs... So any of this "we're set in our ways" shit is untrue about free agency. We all thought Tony Jefferson was a pipe dream last offseason.. We signed him anyway. Robinson is in a similar camp. Probably unlikely, but a possibility. There is a decent chance he gets signed for less than anticipated due to his injury. Whoever said Moncrief is this year's Alshon needs to be fired. Robinson is this year's Alshon(helps that they're similar players too).

I won't be upset if we don't get him... But I think we might be in for a pleasant surprise. "But we don't have the room". Manipulating cap space is easy. We had a decent spending haul last offseason and we didn't have much room either.

Let's stop complaining about the woulda coulda shoulda. Let's see what plays out.

I'm not getting my hopes at all. This is a MASSIVE set-up for disappointment and I can already see the handwriting on the wall. I suspect A***n R******n will go to Northern Cali.

Really let's look at Robinson's suitors

That's his best fit. But I wouldn't completely rule us out...

We're gonna spend money though. Maclin is as good as gone. When even Ozzie Newsome admits we have to reset the WR position, something is going to happen. It was never gonna be Landry. As unlikely as AR-15 is, he was far more plausible. Something will happen. People will likely bitch and moan that's it's not the guy they want. The person in FA will not be the only acquisition. Trust me on that.

Ive been saying this for years now......

All the Browns really did was overpay for 2 GOOD players. They had the capitol and the money to spend and they need all the help they can get. Everyones acting like they got Julio Jones and Kirk Cousins on their team....

But.... But... You win the Super Bowl in March. Everyone knows that.

Dolphins exploring Trade Market for Jawuan James.... now that's a Dolphin player I was more interested in than Landry.
