2018 Free Agency

Dude everybody would be doing cartwheels if we got Landry. Every time we don’t sign or a retain a player. Some fans will say he was overpriced anyways. Osemele was overpriced but Brandon Williams needed to be paid franchise money. Now the same people that were clamoring for Landry are calling him overpriced now. These same people will applaud Mosley a mediocre linebacker signing for $12mil per!! These same people applauded near franchise money paid to a 32 yr old Safety Eric Weddle. Every move the ravens management makes or don’t make was the best move possible to some fans.

I don't know why you even comparing K.O and Brandon Williams. Those are two different times period and The Ravens had their most caps space in years in 2017. They didn't have the cap space to pay K.O left tackle type money at the time. Most people on this board said they wanted Landry but not for 16 million a year.

he's far from mediocre. I'll leave it at that.

He’s barely above mediocre look at the stats. The system is designed to protect him yet no splash plays, can’t cover slow journeyman TEs. He Can’t cover for shit in this era of throwing the ball around when it is a necessary skill for LBs!! Racks up many of his tackles after successful yardage gains. But it is ok to sign him, Williams and Jefferson franchise money?? But You are relieved we didn’t sign Landry?? Some people everything the franchise does is the best move possible.

Keep telling yourself that. But found the money to sign 3 has beens to patch up holes temporarily. But let the young bull building block walk. Primary thinking the team is in the shape it’s in!!

Do you realize how bad we would have been without Brandon Williams at 3t last season. Besides, that's the going rate for his position.

Yeah if u even WANT a one dimensional run stuffer. Most team don’t even want them in this era. And there was alternatives. It’s not like a one dimensional run stuffer that doesn’t dominate is irreplaceable. Osemele is the going rate. Joe Flacco was the going rate. Like I said every decision management makes is the best move possible. There’s actually hardcore homers that will argue Scrubshaw was a successful draft pick!! Besides Henry and Pierce are better than Williams. Jernigan is better than Williams. Coulda kept Jernigan a year b4 letting him walk. Would of given time for Henry and Pierce to grow up and draft a defensive tackle.

You act like The Ravens had all the leverage in the world to be in a bidding war for K.O against The Raiders that had the most cap space of most teams at the time. If The Ravens will even willing to pay K.O 12 million a year you don't think The Raiders wouldn't have up their offer ? .

No, shoulda signed him long b4 he hit the market!! Coulda franchised him and he woulda signed for what he costed raiders or probably even a little cheaper. It was an inexcusable mistake!! The best guard in the league that excelled at Left Tackle as well.

Really????, teams don't want one dimension run stoppers. ie Damon Harrison, Johnathan Hankins, etc.......

You explained it. How many teams employ them. And most of them big elite run stuffers do offer something rushing the QB. Williams is as limp as drunk at rushing the QB!!
The first two games, before he had his injury he was impressively providing good pass rush productivity and the last game as well.

That being said, you saw how bad our run defense was the 4 games he missed and the first game he was getting his sea legs. He is an extremely important player for out defense.

If we signed Landry you would be trashing the FO for ruining our future cap space by giving 16m a year to a slot receiver

If The Ravens didn't have enough cap space for 12 million a year. What makes you think a 14 million dollar franchise tag would have been better?. Have you not paid attention to the situation between The Dolphins and Jarvis Landry? . This is a clear example on how franchising a player doesn't always equal to a extension resulting in a cheaper deal or a extension period.Players are going to continue to ask for more money with the cap space going up just about every year and agents are going to make sure their clients get as much money as they can. So the idea that The Ravens could have came to contract agreement with K.O after franchise tagging him isn't guaranteed to happen. They could have been stuck with a 14 million dollar franchise tag with no way to address others need on the team in free agency. Look at The Panthers they have 20 million in cap space why don't they tag Andrew Norwell and keep a franchise guard on their team ? It's obvious that teams just can't keep them all and most teams with limited cap space like The Ravens have to make a sacrifice in order to attend to other needs.

Dude don’t even try it. Trying to make him out to be this irreplaceable player that dominates. That stretch of games were the tougher teams we Played. There is NOTHING special or irreplaceable about him. Like the run defense would crumble without Brandon Williams. And we would be helpless to replace him if he left. The run defense will be terrible every year if Williams were to leave. Like I said how many teams even employ a one dimensional run stuffer. But management signed him. And that alone makes it the best move possible. If all these decisions are so great y does the team suck

Well I saw what he signed for so it would have got done. An hour ago the problem was raiders upping the deal and we couldn’t afford that much. Now we may not have retained him for what he actually signed for?? I get it your team made the decision to not sign him. And it like every decision is the best decision possible!!

Your right a team can’t keep them all. Management chose nearly washed up Weddle and Watson. and mediocre Mike Wallace over their young bull. When the playoffs are missed again then we can talk about all these great decisions. And as always. “ The Best Decision possible”

Don’t play like he woulda played under that franchise designation

Obviously in hindsight Wallace didn’t pan out as was expected. Similar to some thoughts about Landry, many thought he was held back by Tannehill., but..........

Mike’s two year contract averaged about $5.5 mil. per. His cap # in 2016 was $3.5 mil.. So let’s say Landry signed a similarly structured 2 year deal that averaged what you say he is worth at a minimum, which I think you mentioned $12 mil. per year. So in 2018 Landry’s cash and cap # is about $8 mil. In 2019 that # is $16 mil.. I think you would agree, not a good analogy.
Wait wait wait, “many thought he was held back by Tannehill but......”

But what? Jay Cutler this season was so much worse than any season Tannehill has had. But......?

All I’m saying is we better get at least 2 WRs in the first 4 rounds of this draft or I’ll be upset. A WR and a TE would also be acceptable.
Why? We can’t develop either one to save our lives minus Heap. I’m not optimistic about this upcoming season at all. Landry wouldn’t have fixed all of our issues, but he’s the absolute PERFECT WR for Flacco. I’m fucking sick of this

No cuz it’s one year. Landry isn’t even my fav option. And if we did trade for him we would need a Brice Butler deep threat to go with him. But to pretend we are better off not signing him when we never fronted an an his prime elite chains mover. And WRs are always refurbished old models. It is lying to yourself. Cuz we didn’t get him. Most of these same peeps would be all amped up if we traded for him. But since we didn’t writing it off oh we are better off without him. Thats down rite homerism. Every decision is the best decision by management. No different than when an ugly girl is dumped and her friends say you are better off without him. Your to good 4 him. Here have more cupcakes.lol. When realistically getting dumped sucks

I haven’t been this pissed off about an offseason for a long time now. Maybe since we traded Boldin. There’s absolutely no reason for me to be excited for next year. Yea I know FA hasn’t even started yet but look at the options and look at our cap space. We’re not winning any bidding wars. My money is on Maclin staying. Marty is still calling plays. Our offense looks absolutely abysmal. Calvin Ridley isn’t gonna change that if he even makes it to our pick. We’re fucked.
