2018 Free Agency

They've been saying for a while now the cap would basically max at 179, but was thought to be 178. Shouldn't make that much of a difference regardless of how bad our cap situation is.

That news of Robinson getting tagged wasn't even an actual transaction. It was just a prediction from a beat writer.
Well we'll know tomorrow for sure.

Yeah, until then we shouldn't rule him out. Last minute tags are not out of the ordinary there, but there's not much talk about tagging him. I'll say that there certainly a risk factor involved and I don't blame them for being worried about losing Lee and Colvin.

NFL should get it over with and move the cap to $200M.
Pretty sure the cap is determined by how much money they make, no expert on the league's finances but if they set the cap to that I am pretty sure the league would be losing millions and that is being very conservative

If he's not tagged, chances are knee will take some time. The risk is real.

While teams like the Niners and Bears are LOLing at the Ravens with our limited cap space.
I think it will be easier bringing in Landry than it would bringing in Robinson. Robinson has all the traits and can play any wide receiver role. Landry is a slot monster. I think when it is all said and done Robinson gets paid more even after his injury. Landry is what the team needs in the slot. Bring in Torrey Smith on the outside to replace Wallace.

Then trade down in the first and draft DJ Moore in the first.

I didn't think (and still don't) we had any chance of getting Robinson. Landry, on the other hand, as much as I want him, I'm feeling uneasy about his price and draft capital we would have to spend.

Alternatively, I wouldn't mind Torrey at a cheap price, but then I would want us to draft someone a WR who can play slot. However, versatility is always appreciated.

Sorry Dudes I like Landry. And I’m for trading a draft pick for a game changer even if he is up for a contract. The impact of a young proven game changer far outweighs a draft pick and contract. However Landry isn’t that player and doesn’t bring that to the table. His 8.8 yards per catch are nothing more than checkdowns to glorified long hand offs. I would sign Landry for $8-9 million per. And wouldn’t give up a round3 pick and overpay him. Maybe one of those if the market is thin. But to be honest I would prefer Marqise Lee and Brice Butler. A route runner that has deep speed as well and a tall fluid deep threat that can run routes. For the price of Landry

Then take this into account. Landry averages 8.8 yards per. That’s an average. When you watch his highlights of the intermediate catches of 12-20 yards that are part of his average. Which means many of his catches are well below 8 yards per. It’s like how many of his catches are nothing more than glorified handoffs for 4-7 yards?? Factor in couple yards after the catch. So what are we talking here?? Depth of 4 yards for about half of his catches?? You take his real catches into account, where he runs a route of 10yards or more depth and beats a cornerback. His actual real plays made is probably pretty equal to Marqise.

I’ve already stated this, but watch the Dolphins games this past season and you’ll understand why he only averaged 8.8 yards a catch (his career low).

His QB play was so, so bad. The year prior he had a very good season when Tannehill played pretty decently, and he averaged 12 yac. (Your love child Marquise Lee averaged 12.5 this year I believe)

Give him an even better QB and he would do even better imo. Sick of the 8.8 yards a catch nonsense. That stat is quite irrelevant.

So his best ever was 12?? Your comparing his best to Marqise’s worst?? With an even worse QB. I won’t even look it up and go out on a limb with a guess. And his college QB was a gunslinging risk taker. A poster boy risk taker. And I would bet his college career for most part similar to the nfl. Landry looks slow to me. You think checkdown joe is gonna help him average over 12 yards per??

You know what's the most appealing about s guy like Landry to me? He plays with a comfort level that we have only seen from guys like sss and mason and boldin. It goes unmentioned, guys like Perriman, Wallace, Torrey, maclin, jacoby, Moore, etc. all look very tentative and unsure of anything they're doing, like they have to make a conscious effort to do the right thing, while for a guy like Landry, executing at the wr position is second nature to him, there's no thinking in his game, just doing, and it's very evident. He's got that innate feel for the wr position. It's not quantifiable but it's very noticeable on tape. The confidence he has in himself to go snag the ball when he knows he's gonna take a nice shot, like he doesn give a shit he just wants that ball, the way he turns upfield after the catch, like he just plays like he owns the goddamn place. It's such an under-discussed part of a WRs game, but perhaps one of the most important.

He's been like that at LSU, too. Was my favourite for us to get him.
