do we know what the guarantees are in the snead contract?
10.4 is 800k more than meredith got but meredith got 5.4 guaranteed...

either way its a contract in the right kind of region for what he should be getting - and its just enough money that the saints would be borderline suicidal to match it given their cap space...

I don't think we're gonna have a worthwhile offer to trade back... I just don't see it

I could honestly see us trying to trade up instead. This team is more on the "win-now" side of things and I could see us trying to grab an instant impact player by moving up, provided that we like a player enough.

This sounds about right now that it's broken down.

Schefter:
More details on WR Willie Snead’s offer sheet with Baltimore: two years, $7 million with another $3.4 million in incentives, and deal also includes $2 million signing bonus, per source.

If possible I like trading back for either James Daniels, gesicki, or Moore. Then targeting more OL and skill position in the 2nd
Even though all of our acquisitions compliment each other well, we still lack a #1 WR. We get Ridley or Moore and suddenly the WR corps goes from decent to one of the more balanced ones in the league.

With our FA moves I see no player worth trading up for, unless it's a long term move. A falling mayfield or Rosen, a falling Derwin James or minkah, if edmunds begins to fall that's the only "win now" trade up guy I can think of, also Nelson but that's a non splashy position.

Unless it's Ridley at 16 or trade back for Moore, then I don't love wr in the first. I feel that R2 is the sweet spot

If the Saints decline to match, I'd fully expect us to be heavy in the TE market in the draft. I'd imagine that and OL will be the main priorities.

this is a good contract - with very little guaranteed money and good value if he over performs or under performs

My thoughts exactly, If Snead signs (good timing with the offer sheet to know before the draft) then I think draft night will be us selecting OL or TE.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us take McGlinchy at 16 if there, or if not trade back and select a TE

Yeah, I wouldn't trade up either unless one of those mentioned players starts to drop; I just think it's a possibility.

I wanna see us frantically shopping the 16th. I want gesicki or hurst, and I wanna see us land an OL and another wr as well

I'm just not sure who would be interested in moving up. If the Pats move up, I think they're aiming higher for Rosen. Maybe the Bills go another position with their 1st pick and try to move up for Jackson (in front of LAC) with us? They have pretty good draft capital. That's my best guess but I don't see too many willing trade partners in all honesty.

brian mcfarland makes a good point about perriman now:

Gotta think a 2nd/3rd Rd WR spells the end for Perriman. He's due a $650K Roster Bonus on the 1st day of TC & I can't see him getting that if he's 4th-6th on the depth chart & doesn't play ST. Plus, there's that injury history; an injury during OTAs would force them to pay the RB

the other thing this does is move chris moore down to the 4th receiver spot (at best) which is a good spot for him

Yeah good spot and value with Moore as a 4th WR

I think Perriman was done the minute we started overhauling the room last year. Guy genuinely has got me changing my mind with his potential about 4 or 5 times but just cant see it coming together
