I Think we are going to be okay at RB. I freaking love Collins it is completely magical watching how he can shift his hips and legs so quick and gain leverage on lbs and cbs, making them just bounce off him. Dixon has great potential to be a goal line and short yardage rb, along with a passing down option. If you watch the Christmas day game vs Pitt, some of those short yard runs up the middle he had were incredible. I think DIxon and Collins are a great pair, with Dixon between the hatches and Collins excelling around and outside the tackles. Buck Allen is also a guy I love as a backup and he did a great job in a blocking role. I'd be very happy if we just had these 3 guys.

You say Collins is a one year wonder but if you watch his college tape and the games from this past season you’ll understand why he’s here to stay as our starter.

He was a good back in college and he finally got a chance to show what he’s got this past year. There’s a reason scouts thought of him as a potential day 2 pick before dropping to the 5th (only because of fumbling problems)

Before his rookie year he wanted to bulk up so he gained 15~ pounds. He rarely saw the field and he had ball security issues so Seattle let him go.

Before last season he lost that weight and said he felt way more explosive again. Forsett is not comparable because he was a career backup and never had the quickness or explosiveness of Collins. Watch the tape and you’ll constantly see Collins create his own yards. Forsett was a product of Kubiak. Collins benefits from Romans scheme but our subpar run blocking last year led to Collins having to do it himself.

He’s the real deal.

same song and dance every season.
hyping up offense player for being the next big thing and only to fail to live up to the expectations.

how about we just wait and see before crowing the kid the real deal already.

its not like teams cant watch the tape as well and adjust their game plan to his tendencies orso.....

I think you guys are set at WR. I didn't realize you need that much help on defense. What I seen of your defense last year was it was great.

we're nowhere near set at wr - we've added 2 players and lost 3 from a corps that was one of the worst in franchise history (if not the actual worst)

It was great and everything he listed is more of a "would be nice to have" . A drafted S won't be starting bc that position is set nect year. Having a 2nd ILB would be nice, as would another psss rusher, but there is young blood at pass rush and few teams can claim 2 elite inside linebackers.

Agreed, trying to pick up another ILB early isn't great value, especially since Onwuasor only played like 60% of the defensive snaps or something like that. The defense played better using Levine as a nickel LB than they did using Orr was a 3 down player. Unless Chubb, Derwin, Minkah, or Edmunds falls, I'm in favor of passing on a defensive guy.

Yep. Unless we are looking to replace Mosley and let him walk, a good option is to just find a cheap or later round run stuffer for 1st and 2nd down and put Levine/Clark in on 3rd.

Bears aren’t matching Meredith’s contract with the Saints. If we want Snead, this presents a really good opportunity.

Ugh that makes me even more upset that we didn’t give Meredith an offer...I’m just meh on Snead

I think your defense is set for awhile. Maybe pick up a couple more WRs or a TE and you guys will be set. Flacco seems to still have it in him.

Hensley reported the other day that we did have an offer out to Meredith, but he picked the Saints. Sounds like the lack of cap space limited us.

Oh that sucks. I still hope we throw an offer out for Snead though. He doesn’t have the upside of Meredith but he could be a very good possession guy for us. Tbh he’s probably the type of receiver we need. Nice routes, nice hands. Just not the fastest guy in the world.

Damn, I wanted him back!
Yeah, me too as I had also hoped we would get him out of college. But in actuality it was like he was never here, always hurt and just didn’t pan out. Probably for the best he signed elsewhere.

He gets open and he gets first downs. He won't do much else but we are so desperate for both of those things that I will jump for joy even if he doesn't have the upside that Meredith does.

I'd also say he's kind of underrated after the catch as well. So is Crabtree. We have plenty of Speed with Moore and Brown. Add a guy like Ridley or Moore and boom... We've got ourselves a balanced WR corps.

RB is a need... But we don't need to find the franchise cornerstone stud at the moment. We need a replacement for Woodhead and this draft does have a good supply of scat backs that would be useful.
