Quarterback thread

What would be willing to give for Kelly? They may be willing to trade him if they take a quarterback in the first round.

this is ridiculous - if kelly is as good as sledge thinks he is then the broncos arent trading him - and if they would trade him then he's obviously everything that everyone else except sledge thinks of him - i.e. there's a good reason he was mr irrelevant

Would you give a sixth round pick for you Kelly?

Would you give a sixth round pick for you Kelly?

what for?
my point is if the broncos let him go for a 6th round pick then he's almost certainly a lost cause
and if he is a promising player then the broncos arent gonna let him go for anything less than a bit of a haul - especially given their stituation...

so no im not giving up a 6th round pick for kelly...

Just because a team let's a player go doesn't always mean he won't succeed elsewhere. The greatest quarterback ever to play for Baltimore was let go by the Pittsburgh Steelers, hall of famer, John Unitas.

Tough call. I think Chad Kelly is an absolute stud!! Not a QB in this draft that mimic all his skills. The cannon arm, smooth effortless release, pinpoint accuracy on deep outs and longer crossing patterns, athleticism, instincts, fearless and unrattled under pressure. Rosen has accuracy, mayfield is athletic with instincts and accuracy but not nearly the effortless arm strength and delivery. Allen has arm strength but not the accuracy. Chad has several TD runs of over 50 yards!! Not once but twice dropped about 50 points on Bamas star studded defense. Took many hits yet continued to put touchdowns on the board. Matter of fact looked better than Watson did against Bama. And If Denver drafts a QB in round1. Ravens should definitely steal Chad and groom him.

So if Chad Kelly is this perfect prospect why was he mr irrelevant

That would be so totally cool!! To trade for Chad Kelly and him kick Elways butt for years!! The team he stuck his nose at take the Qb from him and roast him for years

The talk of Chad Kelly reminds me of all the hype people had for AJ McCarron, who hasn't done much.

Baltimorebeatdown on Josh Allen- " On one play, Allen would deliver an accurate dart to his intended target. While on the next play, he would deliver an inaccurate ‘duck’."

Wow great take. They obviously know what a duck is lol. Allen doesnt throw 'ducks', his arm is so strong that he over shoots his target at times, usually when his feet arent set. Then again cant expect much 'analysis' these days

im not sure i agree 100% - he could be the guy but they wouldnt be stupid to look at the other qbs - my personal number 1 is rosen
Ya i agree that you can make the case for 3 QBs to go #1 i just think Allen is best suited for what Cleveland holds for him. Rosen would struggle vs the AFC North because hes not much of a scrambler. The steelers and us would just colapse the pocket on him all day. Allen has the ability to extend plays so does Darnold. I think Rosen is a perfect fit for the Giants

the only thing that would worry me about rosen in the AFC north is arm strength in bad weather...
he doesnt scramble but he's got great movement within the pocket to extend and make his own time - he seems to have a great sense in the pocket - and the browns are set up to not really need a scrambling qb - they are building a great oline, they'll inevitably stick a young qb under centre and may well get barkley at 4 or maybe another high pick rookie rb and suddenly their offence looks a little scary

the steelers and ravens both struggled at times this past year at collapsing the pocket and i wouldnt count on that changing (i hope we see improvements and better usage for our outside rushers)

His entire life, flacco has been super inconsistent. He would be amazing one game and awful the next. Flacco has finally put it together and is easily one of the most consistent qbs in the NFL. He is extremely consistent at throwing picks and sucking. No denying we need a new qb (wether that be in the 3rd or the the first). Honestly if we end up with a top 10 pick, I think there are 5 guys who go top 10. We might have a nice option. Here's my board:
1. Sam Darnold
2. Josh Rosen
3. Josh Allen
4. Mason Rudolph
5. Lamar Jackson

I think we have a chance at Mason Rudolph (guessing we finish around 6-10, 8-12 overall) and maybe A josh but we will have to see. I don't like Lamar Jackson but would love any of the others.
Of course that's just the top 5 for me. I don't really know anything besides those elite 5.
I get through a Ravens season and Joe Flacco comparisons by simple comparing him to any Cleveland Browns QB. Since Jon Gruden may not have his QB show on ESPN, the advantages of his coaching prospective will be missed. I'll check Mason Rudolph out. He better not be another Redman. lol
