Quarterback thread

also we wouldnt have a chance in hell of being able to pay him and still have a functional team next year and i do believe that BB had garropolo's interests at heart in some sense - he didnt send him to the browns, he didnt send him to a team where they would use him as a high level backup, he sent him to literally maybe the best situation he could have hoped for - a team with a coach who's admired him since he was drafted, who just happens to be maybe the best offensive mind in the league, to a team that can afford to pay him, to a team where he absolutely will be the starter no questions, to a team that will have high draft picks to help put talent around him for next year
Seriously. I don't know why anyone would think that we'll get a new QB in the next 3 years unless it is a draft pick.

oh boy, guess who finally gets to watch some good college primetime ball tonight... THIS GUY.

this darnold rosen showdown better not disappoint.

btw ronald jones is looking like a man on a mission.

that 4th and 10 conversion under big pressure was beautiful. thats the kinda shit the ravens are missing. flacco used to do that very well but he lost that skillset

Speaking of QBs, I see that Baker apologized for his comments and gestures today. From a business perspective, I thought it was the right thing to do, but I only enjoyed it because it was "revenge" for Kansas refusing to shake his hands before the coin toss. Mind you, in front of the little kids lol.

Could always send a draft pick for Chad Kelly. And groom him for once Joe is financially cuttable. He is most physically skilled gifted QB I ever saw coming out since Aaron Rodgers. He has many many similarities to Rodgers and it isn't only size athleticism and rare arm strength. His hyper competitive hard nosed stallion style however is more reminiscent of a young Steve young before he was tamed. The biggest drawback is his competitive style that could get him banged up and hurt his rare arm strength and accuracy. He can run and he doesn't slide and run out of bounds. He eludes and attempts to run over safety's and even linebackers. He has a TD run of about 50 yards. And although he let his young male testosterone get him in some trouble. He is very intelligent and has a likable personality. His teammates genuinely like look up to and respect him. He is a leader. Former teammates say there is something about him that pumps you up and makes you want to go to war with him.

His drama can be chalked up to young male testosterone. He hasn't failed any drug tests nor any domestic violence on his resume. I mean come on the bengals drafted some loser Running Back in "ROUND2" that knocked a girl out in public on camera!! WTF!! That is a total disgrace!! And like I said he has very much similarities to Aaron Rodgers!! You would be surprised

I don't care, I love that fire. He moved up in my book. If he's there second round I want him.

Theres a difference between having fire and letting your emotions get the best of you. Also, id rather my qb stay out of the spotlight. Just stay calm and cool, no need for a firey qb. Thats why we(not the ravens) have recievers

I don't think he let his emotions get the best of him, I think he harnessed that fire for 4 quarters and then said "fuck you and your disrespect"

Still, would rather my qb not do that. It just isnt a good look. I dont want a qb like Winston, Newton, or Mayfeild. Poor judgement, lack of maturity. Not what a franchise qb is supposed to be like

You could also say that's similar to Brady or favre who haven't always taken the high road. People see things differently. I'm cut from a different cloth I guess. this is a football player, not a school teacher, I like to see the player at the supposed softest position on offense NOT being soft and breaking the mold. I want the guy leading our team to be disrespectful to our opposition. Ray Lewis did it for over a decade and we loved it, why can't the qb be that guy?

I see this year as the perfect year to draft a QB with our 3rd round comp and groom him for a year or two. Riley Ferguson, Jarett Stidham, maybe Nick Fitzgerald... Those guys look promising
