Quarterback thread

I’d love to have Baker Mayfield here

Seems like a party boy QB to, he's got a lot of Manziel in him.

Theres only a few guys I like right now, Luke Falk could be a good flyer pick, dudes got heart and can play in the cold.
Thats kinda what i think. He still has plenty of talent. Another thing i dont like is that he never seems to have his feet set right. Hes always throwing off his back foot or hes totally flat footed. I just dont trust his footwork in his stepback and delivery. His pocket awareness is great but he does hold on to the ball too long at times

We coulda traded for Garappolo. If he were not a free agen. I like how fast he reads through progressions. He is almost like Brady in that regard. He is accurate, good arm and a good athlete. Patriots could be sorry it traded him!! Of course we could probably get Chad Kelly for a mid round pick. Garappolo could haunt the patriots should Brady get hurt.

I don't think we should have made a run at Garropolo but that's just me. He looks like a good fit for Shanahan but not here. I don't think the Pats are going to regret this though, because even if they'll miss him, he would have been gone at the end of the season anyway.

BB wouldn’t have traded him to an AFC team, especially a rival so easily. He may have wanted more.

also we wouldnt have a chance in hell of being able to pay him and still have a functional team next year and i do believe that BB had garropolo's interests at heart in some sense - he didnt send him to the browns, he didnt send him to a team where they would use him as a high level backup, he sent him to literally maybe the best situation he could have hoped for - a team with a coach who's admired him since he was drafted, who just happens to be maybe the best offensive mind in the league, to a team that can afford to pay him, to a team where he absolutely will be the starter no questions, to a team that will have high draft picks to help put talent around him for next year

Exactly. Kyle will make him into a Star, if he puts in the work. I don’t have any doubt he will put in the work.

All I care about in a qb: 1. Loves football, two makes good decisions, can win big games/ cold games, 4. accurate. I really don't give a shit about how big and strong there arm is if they don't have those other traits. Same with mobility, if they have it, cool, but damn straight they better have those other things too.

That's how it should be done. I think you forgot pocket presence though, that's extremely important to me. Arm strength and mobility are more about thresholds if anything. If it's really too weak you won't make it in the league.

You want it strong enough to make those 30 yard passes in cold weather easily. Pocket presence is one of the most important attributes I look for in a qb. Prefer he is coming from a pro style offense, but don’t rule out entirely.

Arm strength to me is more important when you want to throw a quick pass to the sideline. If you don't have it, that's gonna intercepted 8/10 times.

I think Matt Stafford in prime time last week demonstrated why you need the arm strength - when Jon gruden talked about the turkey hole between the safety and the corner in the zone - the only qbs who can make those throws are the ones who have the arm talent

It’s extra important in the afc north because the steelers Tampa 2 defence is particularly susceptible to that throw

Ravens sent scouts to the UCLA-USC game. At least they make an effort to scout Qb's
