Head Coaching Candidates

As long as we have a good OC I couldn’t care less whether we have an offensive or defensive coach. Hire Austin as the HC and also call plays on D or what?
Yes. Let Bowser and Kenny do what they do best and cover, and fly all over the field. It will make our defense that much better.

Why’s that? I feel like our DL could do it
Willie Henry is an ideal 3T. Pierce would be a good NT, and Wormley and Seiler are ideal rotational pieces. We'd have to add another guy, sure, but it could work here. I don't buy that, especially since we are very much accustomed to having the 4-3 lineups since we run a hybrid anyways.

i feel like we've got too many lineman who are 2 gappers and 0-techniques to be part of a consistently good 4-3 front - would be happy to be proven wrong - basically brandon williams is the issue for me if we move to a 4-3

we'd have michael pierce, wormley and henry sure and they're all decent candidates to play in a 4-3 but im not sure we'd do it because of williams...

that said i'd like to see both timmy williams and tyus bowser in a 4-3

Btw Bruce Arians said he only wants the Cleveland job. I guess there goes him as a guy

I’d rather not hire someone that’s signed up for AARP.

He's just being politically correct. Technically, the Ravens job isn't available. Or any other for that matter.
Yeah, I'm thinking the same. It could have been meant more as "The only job available right now I'd un-retire for would be Cleveland." but there's not many that are available so that's kind of weird.

Sounds probable yeah. I didn’t hear it first hand and only read what others posted.

i mean he did say what you said he said - but it wasnt really the point

i mean tbf doesnt baker mayfield seem like he could almost be related to arians lol

There's plenty of games Joe blew though by not scoring early, then always playing a catch game, like that one that ended on 4th&12.
I want to be fair to the guy, and let's be real here, that pick six totally wasn't his fault and it completely screwed things up, not to mention the numerous dropped passes included a give me dropped TD pass by Boyle. PFF didn't think Joe played a bad game and plenty of other analytics agreed and I don't think that game falls on Joe. There were some missed opportunities but that's just the NFL, the way he responded is what I care about he and he delivered when it mattered. On the other hand the defense blew that game badly in the end.

Besides that, I agree with the notion that he probably doesn't stick around after this season and rightfully so, we just have to focus on what's next with Lamar and bringing in a new HC because I'm certain moving on from Joe will also equate in moving on from Harbaugh.

I really don’t think moving on from one means moving on from the other. There’s absolutely credence to the idea of keeping John to see what he can do without Joe and Ozzie to directly place blame. Then again, we could just as easily clean house. A lot of options exist for sure and there’s no absolute direction Steve could go. There’s a lot of ambiguity hanging over the entire team

I think Harbaugh has just been outcoached too often. It also falls on his staff but in the end that's who he chooses to ride with himself and Marty would likely end up being the 3rd offensive coordinator that he would fire and I doubt the FO would really tolerate another year of Marty year, it's the equvilence of settling for mediocrity.

I wonder about that actually. You think maybe coaches don’t want to come because of the whole hot seat thing? It’s been perceived he’s on the hot seat so maybe a coach doesn’t want to come to avoid just looking for another job the following year? Or maybe they don’t want to be OC if Flacco is QB? I dunno just some things that have crossed my mind lately
