Head Coaching Candidates

Not firing an average/mediocre coach because you’re afraid he might go to a rival is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

Oh no! We might have to play him twice a year! Let’s just keep winning 8 games a year instead.

That'll show em

I remember two years ago on the old boards when Sean Payton status in NO was sort of in question and I talked about him being an option here... Man how long ago was that. I'd kill to have someone like him here. Something remotely close at least. I would like to see an offensive mind here, that would be great.

I don't know who the targets are but I would like to see an offensive minded HC since we have a culture where we focus on defense.

I’d definitely like to have an offensive mind here as HC, but not McDaniels

Keep Roman's blocking scheme and hire LaFluer. He's not the problem in TEN. Both are ideal for Lamar. Lots of playaction to the TEs, attacking over the middle, zone and power run concepts.

I like LeFluer, especially since he has had influence from both Kyle Shanahan and Seam McVay. He could end up being a very good hire, but his experience as an OC is also limited, which makes me nervous. I’d also want him to keep James Urban on his staff to keep continuity with LJ

I’m fine with the limited experience, there’s plenty of coaches who had limited OC experience but would go on to be successful.

Remember, the Ravens did once hire a young, hot shot offensive mind. We ended up with an all time great defense and a mediocre offense carried by Jamal.

What I want most isn't an offensive or defensive mind. It's someone that holds people accountable, and will light a fire under this team. I want the old, never say die, Ravens that fight to the last whistle and pride themselves on being more physical than the other team. Get me a HC that does that, and then try to grab an OC from a good coaching tree, like maybe the Chiefs' or Rams' QB coach.

I’ll take whoever the Chiefs QB coach is lol

Steve: We've got someone from the Andy Reid coaching tree that has extensively studied under him and is similar in terms of tendencies..

I'd keep some college names in mind. When your QB is Lamar Jackson you need a creative playcaller used to spread concepts. Lincoln Riley, Matt Campbell are the hottest names apparently.
