The WR Thread

Sutton 3 cone drill at that size shows lots of potential. He’s still pretty raw though. And we haven’t done a lot in the past to show we’re capable of developing WRs. Would still rather have Moore than Sutton at 16
Yes, but He’s way ahead of where Perriman was when we drafted him though. Light yrs ahead

Apparently dj moore had a 97th percentile showing at the combine
He definitely had himself a hell of a combine. I didn't expect him show anything more than being an above average athlete, but his vert and broad show he's freakishly explosive.

Yep, this and how he performed in college with basically a new qb every week and his upside is tremendous.

I'd gladly take Sutton in the 2nd or very late first if we trade down that far, like if the Saints wanted to jump to our spot for Allen or Jackson. But I still wouldn't touch him at 16.

Idk if I'd even take him in the second. I just have an uneasy gut feeling about him, and I always have, I have no idea why but he just doesn't sit well with me. He looks like the exact kinda guy the ravens draft and he doesn't pan out. We need to completely avoid big physical freak type guys with raw abilities and questionable hands, we will just NEVER develop one of those guys

It's not like he's just a tall guy... There's some nuances in his game.
It feels like everytime a prospect is not totally matured people will freak out and think of Perriman..n

I know he's a lot more fluid and refined than a Stephen hill or jaelen strong, but the clap catching, the fadeaway style ball attacking, etc. worry me

Would it surprise you if he ends being out first round pick?
Yes considering we have come out and said we are looking for different traits when scouting the WR position. We want guys who are sure handed and get YAC. Thats not Sutton...its DJ Moore/Christian Kirk/Calvin Ridley

harbs specifically at the combine said that if receivers cant catch the ball then they arent receivers and we wont pick them - they probably should have tried enforcing that rule with perriman lol but heyho better late than never - i honestly think we're gonna double down on at least 2 receivers who are gonna have 1 specific trait in common - good hands and consistent catch ability

The more I watch Kirk the more he's a Raven in my eyes. Even the tape I didn't like at first has me excited now.

Ive been thinking hes a Raven for like 2 years now. I remember Ridley having a great freshman season and others talked about Kirk as the top freshman WR so i took a gander at him and he just oozed "play like a Raven"

Matt Miller doesn’t even have Anthony Miller in his top 10 WRs. Damn that’s disrespectful

Didn't realize it at first, but they had the Giants (who traded with the Bills) go back up for Hurst, taking him while Payne and Vea were on the board.

happy with the trade back - would even be fine with the position picked too - absolutely disgusted with the player selection lol

given who was on the board at 16 i think we'd struggle not to just take calvin ridley there even if the giants were to offer us that extra 3rd rounder - but even so there are way too many better options lol

Wonder what’s the medical on his ankle is. I see him running drills on his Instagram so can’t be that bad. Wonder if he’ll be there in the 3rd. Still hoping we don’t take that chance and grab him with our second though.
