The WR Thread

I'm watching Kirk, if he's the pick in the second round for us this is a huge boost for our offense. He fits like a glove with his ability to separate quickly and to get extra yards. Can have a big impact on play actions slant patterns or out routes from the slots. His routes are so precise, it's surgery.
I seriously doubt he makes it to pick 52. I agree though, he would be very good for us.

DJ Moore against Northwestern is a fun one to watch, don't have a ton of time to research prospects but liking what I see from Moore

Doubt it. He will definitely be in the 3rd maybe 4th, unless teams see him differently than the media does.
I don't worry too much about how the media views him. The media is wrong a lot of the time. They tend to hype up certain players that should't be hyped and vice versa.

That long TD off the screen pass was a thing of beauty. Too bad our offense has never been able to execute WR screens if their lives depended on it.

The Wisconsin game is a fun one too, not because Moore goes crazy on the STAT sheet but there are so many close calls with balls thrown out of bounds. The Maryland QB play was pretty terrible from what I saw in many games watching him. Guess as a VaTech fan I should be thankful they have Josh Jackson.

Maryland’s bad luck with injuries to QBs has been unreal. DJ caught passes from no less than 9 QBs in 3 years which makes his play all the more impressive. At one point they actually had a LB playing QB.

They have a kid, Kasim Hill who will be a good one. He was a freshman last year, tore his ACL in his third game after coming in to relieve the original starter who tore his ACL in the first game of the season. Unbelievable.

Agreed, which is why I threw in the last sentence haha. But nonetheless I think he will be available in the 3rd.

That was the game that turned me onto Moore. I was iffy on him til I saw that one. He torched the secondary all fucking day but couldn't get a good pass, or even a manageable one. If the qb was looking his way and actually hitting the mark he could've broke 100 yards in the first quarter alone lol

I'm starting to warm up to Courtland Sutton, especially since he ran a 6.57 3-cone drill at the combine. This was 3rd best among all WR's at the combine and his 4.54 40 wasn't bad either at his height. My main issue with him was how he would catch the ball. In tape he seemed to be more of a clapper and his hand placement wasn't that good, although he did catch the ball much better at the combine.

Currently he is working out with Boldin, who is helping him with his route running and separation skills.

Apparently dj moore had a 97th percentile showing at the combine
nicely done. He's right up their with me in one of my top choice at WR. I wouldn't be upset if we took him in the 1st at 16. Of course this depends on who is available at that spot also.

Sutton 3 cone drill at that size shows lots of potential. He’s still pretty raw though. And we haven’t done a lot in the past to show we’re capable of developing WRs. Would still rather have Moore than Sutton at 16
