The WR Thread

What are you guys WR rankings after their combine performances?
Combine shouldn't matter much since nobody totally sucked or plain killed it. It did not change my mind
1] Ridley
2] Washington

I'd like one of these two at #16 although there's no chance Ridley will be there.

Subject to change
1 Calvin Ridley
2Deon Cain/DJ Chark
3DJ Moore
4Antonio Callaway
5Jmon Moore
6Allen Lazard
7Courtland Sutton
8Christian Kirk
9 Simmie Cobbs
10cedric Wilson

Anthony Miller will replace one of these players. However I have to watch his game vs the better competition more thoroughly. As well as his proday. Although not the tell all I do believe the 40, jumps and 3 cone are not totally irrelevant. Saw many a receivers hyper productive vs lesser competition making spectacular catches to only be ok in the nfl. I root for Miller and don’t think he falls in that Kendall Wright territory. But my evaluation of him is kinda somewhat incomplete so far anyways.

1) Calvin Ridley
2) Deon Cain
3) DJ Moore
4) Christian Kirk
5) James Washington
6) Courtland Sutton
7) Michael Gallup
8) Auden Tate
9) DJ Chark
10) Cedrick Wilson

But really it depends on what you want in a WR, so many different profiles.

Ridley did well on the 40 but to put this into perspective his vertical and broad jump was the same as Rosens lol
And?

I don't care nearly as much about the combine if the tape is good. Ridley isn't anything elite but he just plays the game well. Unless you have an Orlando Brown esq meltdown combine it's not as important to me. Fournette was disappointing last year and he's a top ten player at the position as well as an elite athlete at the position when on the field.

Miller not top 10???

Calvin Ridley
Anthony Miller
Equanimeous St Brown
Christian Kirk
DJ Moore
Deon Cain
Dante Pettis
James Washington
Courtland Sutton
DJ Chark

That's my top 10 right now although there's a couple who are probably going to move higher on that list (like DJ Moore)
for extra reference I have at least a 2nd round grade on every single one of those guys

Sad to think about, but the 3 (similar) WRs I want, fall into the range where it’s a reach with our first pick, and they’ll be gone by our 2nd pick.

Christian Kirk, Anthony miller, DJ Moore.

My only hope is miller not participating in the combine drops him. I hope we find a way to trade back or trade up in the 2nd.

we have to walk away from this draft with one of: ridley, moore, miller, washington, st brown, kirk. kirk being the one im least fond of. id take the first 3 at 16, the next 2 after a trade back, and kirk in the second. im also warming up to the idea of auden tate but only if we get one of these well rounded guys also.

trade back for another 3rd if possible, grab moore, get gesicki in 2, use both thirds to trade back into the 2nd if you can land one of tate or cain or a falling OL

random notes as im quickly going through some guys i havent gotten around to watching yet/havent watched in a while...

DJ Chark is gonna drop a lot of balls at the next level. i like his explosiveness, obviously, who wouldnt, but his hands are butt ass ugly, he really fights the ball on damn near every catch. he has perriman/chris moore like hands, like hes not a natural wr. wouldnt touch him til the third at the absolute earliest, but he will go earlier than that. will fuller effect.

i was absolutely wrong about deon cain in my evaluations, he is a 9 in speed, and his ball attacking is probably about an 8, but his hands confuse me. he tracks and attacks the ball very well, he makes the routine catches, but then he seems to drop a good number of 50/50 balls that are tough catches but should absolutely be caught, like a pass in tight coverage that hits him right in the hands, for someone who attacks so well, you would think he pulls them down more often. hes gonna be one of the guys i really dive into, been slacking on him.

steve ishmael, finally got around to it, and i like it. is it possible that this guy is the best natural catcher of the football in this class? i mean he lays out, highpoints, long armed pluck out of the air type catches, covered or not covered his ability to get his hands on any ball thrown his way and to secure a catch with ease are impressive. extremely natural catcher from what ive seen, but i havent found real film yet, just compilations of all his completions.

let's hope its not us that reaches on him then lol - he shouldnt really be in our range though

it would be CLASSIC RAVENS for us to pass on so many LSU players, for Chark to be the first major early LSU player we pick. its like we waited fucking 10 years for a first round WR and when we finally take one, its breshad perriman.

although it seems the ravens have COMPLETELY scrapped their ways of scouting WRs. harbaughs press conference(only heard some soundbites on 105.7) seemed to indicate that they are looking at natural catch ability, natural feel for the position, etc. the shit that makes a wr a low risk prospect. if thats the case, and with chark being LSU, i think were safe lol.

i hope so - and the more i look at this wr class the more i want us to go all in and maximise our picks in that 2nd/3rd round wr range (maybe aggressively trading back in the 1st round and using those extra picks to get more day 2 picks or something

i absolutely am in love with 3 guys at the moment: anthony miller, equanimeous st brown and dj moore

im really hoping we can get moore, tate, and gesicki, which doesnt feel impossible. tate and gesicki likely both go 2nd round, we can make that happen if we want to, but we likely wont. i like the idea of tate on this team, but i like the idea of a moore/miller/washington better, and gesicki has grown on me big time, he is a seriously elite weapon and possibly a top 20 talent the more i watch him.
