The WR Thread

Washington looked more athletic than I thought at the Senior Bowl. The speed, strength and body control he displayed look like those of a number one WR for us. I still believe he is a tremendous fit for Joe and while I don't want to spend a first roudn pick on him, I'd be tripping if we get him in the second. Would be a slam dunk pick.

How was Sutton for so long in the conversation as the #1 WR in college is absurd.
He doesn´t run very polished routes nor he creates separation when pressed. He even has some questionable drops and he tends to get very frustrated, which makes him lose concentration and draw penalties. Man, if there´s one sure thing is that you are going to be frustrated with our offensive play. So well, no to him in the first. I´ll take any StBrown, Cain, Chark, Ishmael in front of him every day.. maybe even Weah.

I like DJ Chark as well. He was criminally underused at LSU. He was 5 star I believe coming out of high school like Diggs was and seems to have sure hands and good body control when going for the ball especially on sidelines. Can also take over sp teams return duties. I personally wouldn't draft WR #1 or #2 but wait till 3rd rd to start grabbing receivers. I've already mentioned Ishmail but guys like Chark and Renfrow certainly fit the bill in these areas

It can very well be that some of our highly coveted WRs are still there in the 3rd, given the positional depth. While I would understand if we pass, I'll be pounding the table for my fav guys anyway :D

so what youre saying is, the ravens are gonna take him.

In each of the last 2 years I really didn't like some prospects and happened to be our first rounders (whether I was right or wrong on their regard). I also didn't like at all Correa, Wormley and didn't like the idea of drafting Bowser, given the other options at DE/OLB last year. So yea..I guess we're going to take him in the first and whoever is left in my dislike list, then :D

Lmao when’s the last time we got a boom out of that? Ever?
Honestly, I'd say before the draft you could see Jimmy as a boom or bust. Also, there's KO. Dude was a great athlete and all, but he was very rough around the edges and came from a small school. Definitely was a bit of a boom or bust.

Was he a boom or bust prospect?

Boom or bust is perriman. A fast athletic dude with questionable hands and route running that you think will improve in those areas and be an absolute matchup nightmare.

He busted
I'd say Humphrey was boom or bust. He had legit concerns about the deep ball that could have derailed the entirity of his career. Now he's put some of that concern to rest thanks to some clearl improvements he's made(he's farther along than I anticipated he would be, that's for sure).

That said I do agree with the notion that Stanley and Mosley were very safe picks. And both have turned into upper tier players. That said, I personally do think that Stanley turns into an elite LT. He's got the athleticism to do it. He had a "down year", but also wasn't a total liability.. Like at all. Mosley had a down year but also played through injury and is very well respected around the league.

Just saying. We could use a "safer pick". Although you don't think Calvin Ridley is going to be elite(me netiher) I do think he's a very safe pick. Would be ideal.

Courtland Sutton would be boom or bust, but I have a decent feeling about him.

Of course. If Nelson is there we should absolutely take him. He's a safe prospect who's likely to become an elite player. Those types don't come around that often

Humphrey wasn't NFL ready. Everyone knew that and even if a lot of us liked the pick and loved the fit, none denied that he wouldn't be a day one starter. Humphrey for all his qualities had a sloppy footwork and a well documented history of panicking once with his back on the ball. He was a flawed but promising prospect, to the point some suggested he should play S. So yeah, I consider that Boom or Bust.

Some still think he's better at sTrOnG sAfTEy

Another poster wants to cut him because apperantly stealing a $15 charger is "thug life".

Cut that bastard for his crimes and then execute him...

I didn't even bother going to that thread... GM in couch are barely sustainable, lawyers in couch are way too much for me to handle...
