The WR Thread

I'll be sure to look at it because so far I've seen a guy who is basically a slower tyreek hill, running screens, end arounds, and returning on special teams.

I have seen a lot to like, and don't want this to be taken wrong, I like Kirk as a prospect, I like his natural feel for picking apart the zones and his uncanny ability to follow blocks and weave through traffic, and his soft and very consistent hands, I just see Miller as a much higher ceiling guy with the same floor
I honestly love both players and will be greatly disappointed if we dont grab either one (unless we draft Ridley of course lol). Its gonna be a hot debate which one is better leading up to the draft. I will say this about both though. They do appear to clap catch at times. Kirk more so than MillerIm not sure either are natural hands catcher. They show ability when they need to (reaching for an off target ball) but its not consistent technique. On film they make spectacular catches but you also fight the ball on occasion. Its something to keep an eye on.

Last year alone. Sutton had 4 games wear he logged 2 catches or less. (Stephen F Austin, TCU, Arkansas St, Memphis)

Now in the last 2 games vs North Texas (2016/17) hes amassed 12 rec - 325 yds - 27 ypc - 7 tds

I wouldn't hate St. Brown, but upon further evaluation he's far more of a compliment piece. We'd need to draft or sign a physical guy to pair with him
I don't see him as a no. 1, but he could be a very good no. 2. Depends on who is available and feel this is the round Ozzie drafts the wide out and I'm fine with that.

Does any body have any info on Fountain that played in the Shrine game and the kid from Houston that scored the winning td. I know its an allstar game but they sure looked good.

I haven't noticed Kirk fighting the catch, that's one of the things I actually gave him over Miller because I saw that too, but Kirk appeared to be a natural soft hands kinda catcher.

I gave Kirk a pretty in depth look but I'll definitely be watching him again

I agree, he's not a number 1 guy but I think he's the type who will be very steady, and occasionally bust a game open with 1 big play. He won't be boxing out and highpointing a 50 yard tossup, but he will get separation over the top sometimes, and he has the speed and wingspan to haul in a classic off-target deep ball from joe, and in between those moments I think his quality routes will make him an easy target in the intermediate game.

I wouldn't be opposed to him at all in the second round, if Miller isn't there then I'd be pretty happy with it actually.

Personally though I think I like cedrick Wilson more.

Yeah, I'd happily take Wilson in the second over St. Brown I don't see either becoming a WR 1 but Wilson will come closer. I can see Wilson being able to occasionally take over a game at the nfl level.

Kinda like Devante Adams for the Packers. He just needs more bulk. Wilson is 6'3 but only weighs 188

I'd take Wilson before St Brown as well but not sure I'd take any in the second. I'd rather go Cain if here, Tate, Washington or Ateman. Or flat out choose another position.

I think Wilson has real #1 potential though, at his height and length you'd wanna see him attack the ball better but he freakishly quick feet, I love how he chops his feet to get a clean release off the line, he's not the most refined guy but he uses that to give himself a good advantage by not giving the corner any leverage.

I'd also take Cain in the second, I need to get around to watching him more but he looks like a damn good NFL prospect, at first glance he reminds me of a cross between Nelson agholor and Michael Thomas, 2 guys I was VERY high on(and I remained high on agholor through his down years and predicted he would get it going eventually)

I like player comparisons, what I DONT like is comparing a ravens player because it feels lazy, however, Steve smith entered my head immediately when I saw him attacking the ball and when I saw how strong and determined he played with the ball in his hands at such a small stature. I was a big Steve smith fan when he was in Carolina and if he never came to the ravens I would have the same thought
And I really miss SS so if we could get someone with that kind of play style I’d be ecstatic.

There is a chance that ridley fall to us at 16. Even though id rather grab a wr in FA or in later rounds, if he is there and The wr pos is what we are looking at... we gotta grab him!

Why Steve Ishmael of Syracuse is getting no respect by the allstar games is beyond me. I've seen him play a couple times and that game against Clemson he was a beast. Even tho it was taken back by a holding penalty he drug three guys from the 5 all the way into the endzone. Truly reminds me of Anquan Boldin by his playing style. I know we got the glamour guys like Ridley and Kirk but we should snag one on day 2 and day 3 since receiving corps may be pretty damn depleted and we need some nuts and bolts. Alsoi during the Shrine game was totally impressed by Daurice Fountain (UNI) and Steven Dunbar (Houston) both who are 3 yr starters and Fountain is also a track star. You guys have any more info or opinions on these 2 guys. Just look like players to me. Just trying to dig a little deeper than the Hollywood stars. We need plumbers and janitors to clean up this damn mess and become the glue for our foundation.

Yup. That's entirely true.
My fav receiver with StBrown, although my Ishmael comp is more Marvin Jones, both from a physical and a style perspective. He runs polished routes, even if he ain't the most sudden WR in the class; high points the ball well and with good timing; great coordination to adjust to throws and plays through cornerbacks.

Cain was, is and will be my guy through and through. I'm not much of a draft crush guy but Cain to me looks like a future bonafide number one. I wouldn't mind him as our first pick in all honesty.
