The WR Thread

@Lost_In_Translation I would be very happy if we signed Allen Robinson and drafted Roquan Smith, Payne, or Taven Bryan, or somehow if it was possible Nelson. Everyone is convinced we need to go offense and play maker, but unless we trade down I really see a shitty value for where we are picking offensive wise. I think a possible elite defender might fall to us. I know we need to address offense, but I feel free agency and this really deep Wr class might be a better shot. Hard to tell though
With all the qbs that could go ahead of us, there is a very good possibility that a very good offensive player falls to us. I’m very interested in what we do in the offseason. I wonder if we go after Paul Richardson. I think he’d be a very good fit here.

I think Courtland Sutton's eye padded, upright running styles makes him look slower than he really is.
Idk what it is about Sutton I just cannot get on board 100%

Like he should pass the eye test but he just doesn't for me, some gut feeling is just giving me a big resounding no. Can't put my finger on it

Idk if that's it but he's a bit insecure with his hands. Doesn't pluck the ball like he should. Doesn't actually attack it although he high points, boxes out and adjust as well as you could wish.

View attachment 434 My GOD read these comments. Holy shit our social media fans are so detached from reality it's fucking absurd

oh wow
im still bitter about why the ravens would want those sorts of responses all over their social media but kick us to the curb

its almost like they treasure incendiary reactions to their actions over reasonable discussion

The amount of people bitching that we might pick an Alabama player is absurd. As if Alabama players haven't panned out for us, as if Alabama doesn't produce more NFL talent than any school, as if Ridley wouldn't be the top wr in the draft regardless of his school. These people and their train of thought is so stupid.

just wondering, what do you see that you dont like?
Its what i dont see. He just doesnt stand out to me like other wr prospects coming from college that thought could be great, davis, ross, allen robinson, obj, hopkins etc.

I think he will just have an average career, bounce about 3 or 4 teams.

Id rather just draft someone i think could be great... fitz smith nelson heck mcglinchey looks very good as well.

I think we're in a bad spot were the easily identifiable "great" picks, even a damn guard, could all be gone.

I wouldn't be angry with the pick but i wouldn't be jumping for joy either

I feel like you got this one wrong and I bet the reason is the way Alabama played last two years with Jalen Hurts at QB. Whole different story with Coker in Ridley's freshmen year.

Dude is a star in the making. If he ends up with half decent QB in the NFL, he's going to kill it.

so its not a tangible thing, just a gut thing for you? i just dont get it. ridley pops off the film for me, he looks special, his level of explosion along with his precision and reliable hands/body control is what i see immediately, those traits fly off the screen. hes not some jumpball specialist, hes just an excellent wr who will gain separation against any cb in the NFL, you cant press cover him because hes too lightning quick with deep speed to make you pay, he can pick apart zone because he can reach the soft spot in the blink of an eye and he has the know-how to sit in the gap, he runs every single route at a high level, catches the ball even when he has to make big adjustments, he looks special to me man, idk what it is youre missing.

And it didn't matter a bit that he played most of last season as literally only pass catcher in a run heavy offense with no TEs and occasional sprinkle of a true freshman WR on the other side. With all the attention of the secondary and sub par passing QB game he still caught 60+ passes for just short of thousand yards.
Oh, he also blocked the shit out of the opponents' edge for a lot of rushing yards.
