The WR Thread

if he is its because its a weaker wr class. He's behind ross davis and Williams from last yr from what ive seen (not studied him) when ive watched bama games.

Kid can catch though. Thats a plus for us if we draft him. Remind me of mark clayton

he's well ahead of ross...
he's not quite as good a route runner as corey davis (for me) but i think corey davis is one of the best college route runners ive ever seen, and he's not as big-bodied as mike williams but he's faster, runs better routes and catches the ball cleaner than williams so id argue hes a better prospect than williams and you could argue that he's a safer pick than davis

he's clearly the top receiver in this class for me (and you're right tbh that its a weaker - at the top - wr class than previous years) but i dont see that he's noticeably a worse prospect than corey davis and mike williams were and you could make an argument he's a better prospect than both (although ill reemphasise i loved corey davis)

Yea I get you can’t judge but when you consider he disappeared in the biggest game of his life, I don’t like
Don’t think he disappeared watch the all 22 tape and he had a lot of separation just bad QB play. One thing I am worried about Ridley is the fact that he has a hard time adjusting to somewhat inaccurate passes. The ball has to be perfect but considering the amount of separation he gets off the line and at the top of his routes i don’t think this will be a big issue

Well if he can’t produce with a wildly inaccurate qb he doesn’t fit here lol

I'd say Ridley would be a top tier WR prospect in most drafts tbh. Very good route runner, athleticism, very good hands... He's not nearly as good as Julio was(not many prospects were),

I do think he does not reflect the rest of the WR class either. That said, I don't think this WR class is as weak as some indicate. It's not strong, but it's not debilitating either.

Even on Flacco's worst day he's better than ANY Bama QB during Saban's tenure has been. Come on man.

For sure I was completely kidding about the Joe part. I really like Ridley and I think we have a great chance at him just based off his age and shitty qbs. However I have noticed Flacco only seems to ever connect with veterans, so I’m way more interested in what we do in Fa than who we take at Wr. I think a team will fall in love with Sutton ahead of us. I honestly would be very surprised if we don’t trade down

@Lost_In_Translation I would be very happy if we signed Allen Robinson and drafted Roquan Smith, Payne, or Taven Bryan, or somehow if it was possible Nelson. Everyone is convinced we need to go offense and play maker, but unless we trade down I really see a shitty value for where we are picking offensive wise. I think a possible elite defender might fall to us. I know we need to address offense, but I feel free agency and this really deep Wr class might be a better shot. Hard to tell though

He's way ahead of Ross, Ross was massively overdrafted as evidenced by his healthy scratches(when he was healthy). Williams and Davis is subjective, williams is a totally different breed of a big bodied wr, Davis is a big bodied guy with a skillset similar to Ridley, but Ridley appears to be way more explosive.

Ridley was thrown to by Jalen hurts all these years and it "hurt" him.... hehe. Ridley has an amari Cooper skill set with more explosion and more consistent hands. He hasn't shown much as far as contested catches go, because he's always wide open, but he had to earn that separation he so often gets.

To me Ridley is a better prospect than Davis. For some reason I wasn't impresseb by Davis' tape although I could see the traits.

I agree. I've been very high on Ridley for years, I've been hoping all this time that we just happen to have a shit season just in time to get him, but here we are sitting at 16 once again smfh.

There's still a lot to happen before the draft. And even 1 hour before the draft a lot will still be unknown. For all we know Ozzie might regret not taking the deals on the trades for Ramsey, Mack and Lattimore and decide this year he's going to take his guy no matter what.

Not only that he might regret it, but it might be needed to prevent a total regime change if we have another bottom tier offense and nothing in the passing game.

Meh. Ozzie's very fine if you ask me. Only way he gets out is if DeCosta starts getting angry and wants his turn.
