The WR Thread

Man, hes everything us raven fans been wanting in a WR. Smooth route runner with strong reliable hands. With that said, ozzie will pass on him for james Washington. We need another WR who just run 9 routes.
One one hand, we have a track sprinter in pads, on the other hand we have a Alabama player. Real toss up

Sutton is back to having a 1st round grade from me. I just wish he bulked up a little bit to really max out his potential as a big bodied target, but he's showing a lot of progress this year and he looks like a complete receiver.

I saw the same thing. Looks like he worked on his route running. I just wish he was more physical at the line and at the catch point. Like he is after the catch

I think his route running has always been pretty good, but it's his renewed quickness that just makes all the difference. The technique is pretty much the same, but the speed at which he does it is on a whole other level.

I haven't seen a lot of people talk about him but I really would not mind Christian Kirk. I understand he's not a big receiver but he doesn't play down to his size and we just flat out need a play-maker here. My biggest issue with him is honestly his health and I think we could pass on him because of that but I think he's one of those guys that no one really has their eyes on but the Ravens end up picking him. He just seems like that type of guy the Ravens will have higher on their board then people are led to believe.

If what you said is true, we better not pick him then. :p

This was probably the first guy i mentioned. I thought about it last year honestly. Hes a natural route runner and built for the slot. Hes probably best used like percy harvin was, just get him the ball in space and hes electric. His character is top notch which is probably going to get him a blue star or whatever it is we do, also for his return ability, we need that in a big way.

Thing is with Kirk is that his production is way down this year. The fact that hes playing with a true freshman qb and a bunch of other young recievers has makes it understandable.

Either way, he could fall in the draft to possibly the second round. With Ridley, Cain, Sutton, Washington, and Miller getting all the hype with their good play, kirk becomes an afterthought. In my eyes hes just as talented as all those guys. He just hasent had the same production and its hardly his fault. Hes in a bad spot right now

The thing about Kirk that I don't like is that you don't see him run the full route tree that often. You want to see more of that. Texas A&M has switched to a spread offense as well so Kirk doesn't get those high volume targets as well so that might have contribute. I might have to watch more to confirm that though.

Definitely, his production is not nearly where you imagined it but the dude is going to shred the combine. Honestly, a lot of guys have disappointed lately, that includes Cain and St.Brown who have dropped off mostly in part of what's surrounding them. I wouldn't pick Kirk in the 1st honestly, but it wouldn't shock me if the Ravens value him more then people are led to believe. I'm very confident we pick a WR in the first two rounds this year. I agree, he could drop to the 2nd round and If that's the case I would absolutely make a move to get him.

That way ozzie can knock out 2 birds with one stone in hus innability to draft 2nd round picks (lately) and WRs lol

We would get Washington if Ridley wasn’t from Alabama lol. It’s a match made in football heaven.

If we draft James Washington I will be pissed. I'd have trouble taking him in the second. He's so stiff and labored in his movements and I don't trust his hands or his ability to gain separation

I felt the same way about perriman. And here we are..
Fool me once, shame on you..
Fool me twice, shame on me.
With that said, if Ozzie is still here by next draft, I'll order my custom Washington jersey in advance.. its a given

The number of seasons we have said this phrase. You know something, "We need a playmaker" needs to be the motto on this website and I'm dead serious with that.

It's been a problem for so long. Our one play-maker was Steve Smith Sr. but he's gone now. IMO he was the ultimate play-maker here.
