RB Thread

If we are to take a RB,

I want:
Derrius Guice, Nick Chubb or John Kelly.

I'd be okay with:
Akrum Wadley, Rashaad Penny, Royce Freeman, Kerryon Johnson.

Royce Freeman has been a sort of a forgotten man on my part this season, but I'm going back to his tape and I'm stunned by his vision and his patience at the line, absolutely playing with the linebackers. Also surprised to see he's got more juice than I expected. He's growing fast on me, and given that he should fall with the depth in this class, he could end up being a major steal on Day 3.

Was on his bandwagon since before he declined last year. I haven't watched him in a while so i don't have any recollection of his skill set, just that he's a big bodied workhorse type who can really put on a juke move when needed, a good strong runner who doesn't go down with half-assed tackles, strong and well-used upfield cut, and some breakaway speed. Broad description but this is what I remember of him.

I also remember one specific snap where he got the handoff somewhere inside the 10, and it was a really tight box(phrasing) yet he still put on a hard ass foot chopping juke and put a linebacker clean on his ass from like 5 yards away.

John Kelly actually runs routes, is electric after the catch and blocks on third down. He is difficult to cover for any line backer or safety.

The only problem i have with drafting John Kelly is that Kenneth Dixon is basically the same player. Im not sure hes the change if pace back we are looking for

Pretty much. But that’s why I like him so much, because I also love Dixon lol

But then if you take Kelly your basically getting rid of Dixon. Unless Dixon beats out kelly for snaps then you just wasted a draft pick
I don't rhink they're the same player but even if they were, Dixon's availablity (or lack thereof) would justify bringing a second knife.

Man, guice intrigues me so much. I hate the idea of taking a rb at 16, but he's special and would fit like a glove here, he'd be the new face of the franchise by the end of year 2, the focal point AND fan/coach favorite. My heart says he's quite possibly the best pick at 16. I'm between guice, Derwin James, and mcglinchey/wynn, and guice I think is the best talent and biggest splash, but he's still a rb...

This 100%! I’m all aboard the guice hype train. Make teams respect the run, stack the box. Play action and let joe rip it again!

Guice on tape in 2017 is a day three prospect. 2016 is a different story of course but given the sum of both years and the fact that you could get the same production from Dixon, Collins and a mid rounder in this year's draft, I wouldn't take Guice at sixteen.

No RB should be taken in the first round. It doesn't make any sense.

It has worked out fairly well for the Cowboys and Jaguars. And for us back when we got Jamal Lewis.
Sure but the jags could have taken Kamara in the 3rd as well and drafted another great player in the first. This is just one example of many.
