Honestly I dont think The Ravens should have full confidence in those guys. This year draft class is too deep for The Ravens to not even attempt at drafting a receiver. They missed out in 2014 when that draft class was deep at the positon and they probably cant afford to do the same this year. Even if The Ravens do have full confidence in their young receivers outside of Brown and Snead I think its important The Ravens draft a receiver with speed and can be used as a kick/ punt returner.

I can get your idea of why The Ravens should trade for a veteran receiver instead but honestly those guys are probably going to cost more. Why do that if a receiver in this draft can do the same or more than a veteran receiver at a much cheaper rate?

our WR corps needs some help - there's some good pieces but not enough

we 1) need warm bodies 2) need talented bodies who will actually make the roster

there's literally only 5 guys that even have a faint chance of making the roster but unless 2 of them make a big jump im fully expecting only 3 of them to make it - and if all 5 (Brown, Boykin, Snead, Wesley and Scott) make it then our WR corps is in dire straits

sorry did steve maruicci just say that the cowboys had the number 1 offence in the league last year?

did the ravens not just break offensive records that have stood for decades lol...

I think technically they beat us in total yards by a smidge, it’s a dumb way to rank it but that’s the official ranking

My prediction is we do very little moving around. We've got 4 picks today, and I think we make at least that many before the day is over.

I think you'll see one of those guys be WRs, but I don't think it'll be in round 2. I think everybody knows there's not a huge difference in talent between 2nd round and 4th round WRs in this draft.

I think you'll see us get an interior Olineman today (likely in the second round) and get another defensive player or two, likely at LB or DLine.
I wouldn't rule out LB but I don't see the value in R2 unless there's an edge player and I don't see us using all nine picks, I don't even think we have enough room for all nine picks which is primarily why I think we could move up. I'm not a huge fan of these day 2 Edge players to be honest with you. I like Epenesa and Gross Matos but I'm certain they'll be gone by our pick. I'm with using a pick on interior OL and DL but I'd much rather address WR then either of those since we have decent depth on the interior, we have nothing remotely close to that with WR.

Cowboys led in either passing yards or total yards, something like that, because they throttled bottom feeders and couldn’t beat a team over .500

Lol yep. I just don't like him. To be honest, apart from few guys, DL is pretty meh this year. Timmy Jernigans and Carl Davises all of them.
I for one will never take the production of an Oklahoma defender as the main measure, and production was the only argument I saw against gallimore, production as in stats.

on tape you see a 3tech not being consistently used in his most ideal way, but when given the opportunity he really flashed some super explosive penetrating ability, like he looked really special in stretches throughout the year.

also worth noting he played more of a nose role his whole career and dropped a significant amount of weight to become more of a pass rusher just this year and was still adjusting.

for a point of reference, I think anyone who likes Davidson should be fine with gallimore, because they have very similar upside and skill set on the inside, and both are in a major adjustment period on the field.

I mean, I feel like this is pretty bad analysis by Sharp though...
1. If we take David Newton's tweet as gospel, he doesn't say that Carolina felt Simmons was better than Brown... it says they felt Simmons was more athletic, which obviously isn't a surprise, because he is. More athletic doesn't automatically equal better player.
2. I actually think the Panthers thought process was pretty spot on. The position they took is generally a more valuable position in the league, I think it fills a bigger need, and as far as their analysis of versatility, one could argue that taking a player like Simmons on a rebuilding team could hamstring or make your decisions more difficult moving forward.

If you played him at Safety this year, is he a Safety for good? Do you target linebacker next year or Safety next year, and move him to linebacker? Every team would have similar questions, unless you're a team that already has some decent players at some of these spots, like Arizona does.
But how could versatility have a negative impact on any team, let alone a rebuilding team? I'm assuming that the natural position of Simmons is LB. I wouldn't want him to switch positions for good, but I would use him in the other positions that he played such as safety and even slot CB kinda like in a substitute teacher type of way.

I think Sharp meant that he believes that Simmons is better than Brown, but that's obviously irrelevant to the Panthers since they have their own board. I personally would keep playing at him at his natural position just to avoid murky contract negotiations like how Bell wanted to be paid like a receiver because of the number of catches he caught from the backfield.

i dont love gallimore - you're right he has a super high upside but at the moment he's a win-early-or-not-at-all pass rusher where he'll win with some lateral quickness and hands but if the OL gets into him the snap is over

To me, Davidson is totally different beast. He's a dog that never stops and is effective outside and in.
