Joe Flacco

So interesting/depressing moment from after the Texans game: John Harbaugh gave game balls to Willie Henry, Anthony Levine and wait for it.... JOE FLACCO!!!

I don’t get it - is the coaching staff legitimately blind?

Maybe that last play that seal the game.

Harbaugh and flacco . Flacco can do no wrong as far as harbaugh is concerned. If mallett played like flacco he'd be criticised and cut.

pukery.

Because Flacco hasn't been solid (which is basically his celling aside from his FLUKE playoff run) in YEARS. Palmers below par years were better than what flacco has shown. Favre is a different kind of cat and bradford is young.
Dude, Palmer threw 20 picks in a season, the year before he was 21-13 TD-INT, and before that he was out for the year. After his stint in Oakland which was a total joke he got traded again.

Do you have a link to any of these studies?
I don't, but I know as a fan I've sit back and watch Brock Osweiler, Matt Flynn, Kevin Kolb, Mike Glennon among other fail miserably who come to mind. I would challenge anyone to name someone who has came from being a back up QB to a capable starter who is now starting on an NFL team and has been for a few years. The only guy I could legitimately think of is Tyrod Taylor.

I probably should have said that there's probably a study out there of something of that nature, but just looking at the current landscape there's a pretty good chance a McCarron signing would be a big bust here.

There's plenty of success stories across the NFL for each poor signing. Just have to look at the skill set and what they offer as a passer.

Mike Glennon....MIKE GLENNON got a 45M/3YR contract with 19M guaranteed on his deal in FA. Joe would have an offer the moment he gets to his car after he's released. He'll for sure get a payday if he's released.

There's Kurt Warner, and Brett Farve among others, but I can't think of anything else. Of course there's success stories, but it's not generous often to the QB position.

Tyrod Taylor, Kirk cousins, Blaine gabbert (sort of), case keenum, (I wanna predict Jimmy G will be too) to start with currently starting from those circumstances

Most famously, Steve Young.

Matt Schaub and Matt Hasselbeck were very integral in their team's playoff success. Wasn't Favre a backup for the Falcons at one point?

Favre got drafted by Falcons but then HC Glanville was against it and said Favre will never play for him. Traded to GB after the rookie season.
