Joe Flacco

I agree with you that we should get him healed up prior to trading him. But where did you hear surgery was needed? And when did this injury happen?
Jason laconforna said about surgery.

Happened on the first drive of the steelers game.

He was seen with trainers throughout the game and was stretching it all game

someone on twitter apparently heard about this last night - that same person is saying "Was initially told 3 weeks minimum (as of last night) but that could change."

Dude is a warrior. He played like 3 plays before coming out when he tore his knee up. Hope it’s not serious.

I don't want Lamar to start not because Lamar isn't capable of starting and winning us games right now, but because we had a plan for when to start him and I want us to stick with it just like KC stuck with the Mahomes situation. The reason we have RGIII is precisely when Joe gets hurt or plays horribly like he's capable at times. Let Lamar stick with his protocol especially when the O-line is not fully healthy. He is too important to this franchise right now.
When you say “we had a plan for when to start him”

We have no earthly idea what the organizations plans are.

Not sure where I heard but it was mentioned somewhere Monday. Didn’t specifically mention a hip, but said it happened in the first quarter.

Everyone praises Ben for being a super tough quarterback, but he's such a diva. Joe is one of the toughest quarterbacks in the NFL, hands down.
Joe might not be a great QB between his ears but I truly believe he is the toughest SOB of the entire lot of QBs in the league and is the only total anti-diva among all players. I wish him the quickest recovery and full health. But, I can't help wonder about the weird irony that his closest buddy Pitta also had a hip injury... it is entirely likely that we may have seen Joe's last game already as a Baltimore Raven if he requires surgery. But, being as tough as he is he'll play again for somebody next year.

No but my sense is they do have a plan that was to red shirt him so he could work out all the fundamental kinks he has with his throwing skills. Also, keep in mind that Andy Reid is Harbaugh's mentor and I'm sure he has seen how effective Mahomes has been with a red shirt year.

Tough S.O.B and not a diva! Imagine the drama we went through with fucking Ben rolling and whining when Z landed on him! I'm gonna miss that country toughness that Joe brought...

if that's the actual case then we wouldnt have put him on the field at all and RGIII would be active on gamedays

and the plan is pointless if lamar is ahead of schedule...
what better way to get him extra ready for next year than have him take snaps

maybe he can even get a couple of wins - a couple of wins and he might already end up with more qb wins than the rest of the rookie qb class lol
baker's got 2 (1 technically where he didnt start but it was his win), allen's got 2, rosen's got 2, darnold's got 3 (but has been playing poorly and is now injured)

im being selfish but as a team we get nothing out of starting RGIII - maybe we get a stopgap but if we lose 1 game out of the next couple we're basically done for the playoffs - Lamar energises the fanbase at home after the bye if he starts, the coaches have already said they want to see him more (well give him the start) - for the future of the franchise we need to start lamar - let him play against a starting defence that will want to welcome him to the nfl (a defence that's missing some guys too incl. carl lawson)

Just received an alert from BR.com that given Flacco's injury status it may be Lamar's first start and I don't like him being rushed into starting. Isn't this scenario exactly why we got RGIII??
