The Random Thought Thread

Sami84 is really the only other Raven fan here, besides myself and Lombardi, that doesn't let purple colored sunglasses cloud judgement. most of the regulars here have thick purple lenses clouding their vision, they can't admit the truth and likely never see it. Its' fact blindness. Every Point Lombardi made we've been talking about for years.

The critical mass will eventually get to bisciotti. might get there quicker if more could see as clear as Lombardi, Sami84 and myself. its time for a sea change.

Fire Harball, Fire Ozze, Fire Decost, Sell the team Stevie B.

At least now Stevie B can't say its merely disgruntled fans.

My friend(Titans season ticket holder) says Mularkey was fired because he wouldn’t change OC. They are now going after McDaniels.

looks like they wasted too much time with that playoff win - looks like mcdaniels is seemingly gonna be the HC for the colts per rapsheet, pelissero and la canfora - not sure but the titans playoff win might have screwed their chances at getting a good offensive replacement for mularkey

I've seen reports McDaniels' first choice is a Titans job.

Yeah, he was saying Lane Kiffen may be Plan B.

This is hilarious, but I believe it. When Lane accepted the job at FAU, I said there was no way he stayed 3 years. Of course, they extended his contract in his first season, but still don't doubt it.

It's interesting that they fire him for the thing most people are upset with Harbaugh about, yet he actually made playoffs. You could tell they didn't want to retain him.

The major reason has to be slow progress / stagnation by Mariota. They've built pretty good O line that should have helped big time. Running game suffered as well with bad play calling / snap management.

it's almost certainly why they fired him as soon as he indicated he wasnt going to change OC (explicitly rejecting the idea of a system change) - the titans offence needs to move into the 21st century and it wasnt maximising the talents that the titans went and brought in to spark a change - they went out and got an olineman and demarco murray's replacement and then a year later they got a dynamic returner, an unbelievable route runner and a burner as well as someone who drew pre-draft comparisons to their own delanie walker... and yet they stuck to "exotic smashmouth"

Marty would rule with that offense.

Marty would rule with that offense.

corey davis is one of my absolute favourite wr prospects, taywan taylor is a brilliant complementary piece, rishard matthews did well when everyone else was injured, eric decker didnt do much but he adds a useful element to their redzone offence

delanie walker was maybe one of the best free agent signings in recent nfl history and jonnu smith was comped with him (have to assume he's the heir apparent at that position if he progresses - although he picked up an MCL tear in the pats loss)

they have bookend tackles on rookie deals (not for long in one case) in lewan and conklin

they have derrick henry who's been phenomenal when they've asked him to carry the offence (and i have no idea why in some critical situations they were going to adoree jackson - that 2-way play idea with him should be trashed and burnt - he's a returner and corner dont make him play offence too)

and on top of all that they have marcus mariota who had an electric rookie year under ken whisenhunt (but the defence was utterly atrocious) - he looked better as a pocket passer, rushed less and played better despite having much worse talent around him - and to think the titans binned whisenhunt because of the lack of talent on that team despite how well mariota was playing - i know they were 1-6 (or something) when he was fired but they only went 2-7 the rest of the way - they were worried whisenhunt wouldnt develop the right offence for mariota and yet whisenhunt's offence was the best mariota's ever looked despite only having 1 win

the pieces on that offence are glorious
and they have some nice pieces on defence too
if they pick up an interior offensive lineman a good safety and maybe another tight end they legitimately could have the pieces for a high-octane rams-esque offensive turnaround with opportunistic playmaking defence

Congrats to Jermaine Eluemunor who despite only two starts and a benching was named to the PFWA All-Rookie team.

i saw that too i was like wth was the rookie interior line class that bad that 2 awful starts and a benching constitute a all-rookie nom
it probably didnt help that dan feeney and forest lamp were both injured before the regular season...

i imagine if they had a 5th db slot like the all-pro team then humphrey would have made it
