Really happy for Mike MacDonald. He deserves this. I am still so sad that he got poached after 2023, but we knew it was inevitable, didn't we?

At the beginning of the 2024 offseason, spirits around here were pretty high, and why wouldn't they be? The Ravens made an AFCCG, Lamar got his second MVP, and the Ravens were one of the NFL's best teams of the century.

I probably sounded like too much of a doomer and a pessimist, but I had opined that I didn't feel great about the defense moving forward and, by extension, the team. I thought that MacDonald did so much to make otherwise mediocre players play far above their level.

Fast forward and the 2024 and 2025 seasons proved that right. The defense was a sore spot. And on top of that, MacDonald led the NFL's best defense (by traditional stats and DVOA) this year.

I firmly believe had the Ravens had MacDonald in 2024, Lamar wins his second straight MVP and the Ravens are in the Super Bowl against the Eagles. Do the Ravens win? I don't know- the Eagles played out of their minds. But I do think the Ravens give the Eagles a better run for their money than the Chiefs.

ESPN/ABC will broadcast their first Super Bowl since Super Bowl XL in 2027. They revealed the official Super Bowl 61 logo, so for logo color conspiracy people, you have Orange at the top, blue ocean at the bottom.

Pretty sure both of us had some kind of feeling to keep him at any cost, even if it involved Harbaugh going to a FO role. Glad to see his success this early. More proof of the importance of coaching.
