The Random Thought Thread

Steve mentioning that there was a plan proposed to replace both coordinators was enlightening given the narratives that were floating around. Looking from his point of view you can see why he thought it was the perfect time to fire Harbs and do a complete reset of the coaching staff.

Looking back they just never really recovered from losing Mikey Mac and the staff that left at the same time. Piling on, the passing of Joe D was a devastating blow to O line development.

I mentioned before that if they wanted to replace both coordinators it’s very likely Steve would move on from John as well. It just makes sense because it’s very rare to keep the HC if you’re talking about replacing both of his coordinators. It happens (Packers/McCarthy, Seahawks/Carroll, Eagles/Sirianni, Commaders/Quinn) and the names aren’t terrific although one did win a Super Bowl after soooo….

It usually doesn’t end well, so I can see why Steve just ripped off the bandaid

After your ardent and unwavering support of Harbaugh, it's odd to see you flip the script so fast and just accept his firing so cleanly.

To be clear, I agree with everything you're saying. Just didn't expect it from you.

I'm surprised Biscotti would give such an ringing endorsement of Loop ,saying he will be our kicker for a long time.

Really? Dude cant kick kickoffs and missed a gimme in biggest game of the year.

What is anyone supposed to say in that situation? Disparaging him publicly only makes the likelihood of him getting over it basically zilch.

I mean, Steve mentioned that Tucker probably would've made it but Eric immediately chimed in to say "who knows" because they know the players will hear this, too. If kicking is mental, and you spent a pick on a kicker, you want them to recover and not feel defeated because the owner doesn't believe in you. The owner is the last person Loop likely wants to have no faith in him.

Doing research for the Forum Mock, why does every team have like 20 free agents or more? Feels like there isn't going to be an easy team this year without losing a lot of your players.

I didn't say he had to criticize him but he could have just said he's a good kid that needs to improve.
I think you are taking his words as giving Tyler a spot on the Ravens starting roster, which isn’t the case. Steve was just trying to help the kid through what is probably one of the toughest times of his life.
