The Random Thought Thread

just feels weird that we're getting insiders and others commenting on it
just makes it seem like a brief has gone around
Pretty sure we see at least one team go through the “removing the ping pong table” storyline a year and it never gets talked about this much

Damage control by Harbs, he made the call, the response was mostly “lol he put the players on timeout” and now he’s putting it on the veterans
What's the damage that they're trying to control? Not seeing many people be like "yeah they should absolutely have access to all this fun stuff on a 1-5 football team".
If he wanted to score mega PR points, he'd be like "fuck yeah I did it, and I'm slashing all their tires on the vehicles if they lose on Sunday too".

Hopefully it was some of the vets that made the decision to remove the stuff. It takes solid character teammates to breed accountability on a squad , something this team has usually had in the past. Just hasn't seemed like there's been any alpha dogs in the pack, maybe some are finally stepping up.

I'm guessing it's just the shock of a team that should be good that isn't good and trying to find something to latch onto in order to explain it.

Coaches, players, front office, step-uncles, whoever decided to remove all of the stuff... I maintain that if you felt the need to do that then I believe there are bigger problems.

Definitely wasn’t being serious.

More that harbs is the type to save his skin in this fashion, understanding it’s an absurd idea to think this is actually what’s happening.

He’s a minister of propaganda kinda guy.

Damn right there's been big problems, an obvious lack of resilience and fortitude in the face of adversity. They've pulled through tough times of injuries and such in the past, but this group has felt different. Maybe some guys step up, we'll see.

Exactly. Feels like the panic move of a man who knows his job is on the line if it happened. And if it did I believe Harbaughs behind that shit. If I'm wrong I'm wrong.

I don't have the strong feelings on Harbaugh like a lot of you, but I'm confident in saying that he doesn't give a damn about what anybody but Steve thinks about him. If he loses his job he'll be comfortable with Biscotti's decision, those guys are tight. If there's any panic it's about how shitty his team has been playing, not about losing his job.

Yup… everyone know it’s Harbs. But they like to control the narrative

Big Ego Harbs doesn’t care what others think about him?

Ha, good one.

Doesn't make sense though. Why would Harbs doing it be viewed as a "negative"? If he did it, wouldn't the optimal PR strategy to double down on it? I'd stand up there and say " you bet your ass I did it. Have you seen how they've played?".

Putting it on the players is giving credit to the players for doing the things they should be doing.

Honestly, I sort of believe it was the players. I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle Van Noy be like "get these games tf outta here until we win games" because he is visibly pissed. Not sure how the Ravens locker is but maybe guys bring that stuff in or paid for it or something and now want it out because they feel like some aren't as focused.

I agree with @rmcjacket23. If the head coach removed it, I don't see why he wouldn't own up to it. He doesn't answer to anyone and doesn't really seem to care what anyone thinks besides Bisciotti.

As for who leaked it, could be some of the younger guys who are pissed that they removed it and think it's the coaches.
