You cant force someone to do something if they dont wanna do it! If those activities were stopping them from focusing, they just dgaf.

I see both sides. These guys can afford video games and ping pong tables at their homes, right? Nobody is going to take away those.
When you're 1-5, and attention to detail is very clearly at a near all time low, I'd want 100% of the time you spend in the building be involved in preparing yourself to play the next game.

Some of these guys are in the building for 12+ hours everyday. God forbid they take a break and have some fun in life at some point throughout the day.

In my line of work if you are getting the job done for the most part nobody cares what you do. It becomes a problem when at the end of the month your averages aren't where they are supposed to be.

Now all of the sudden you can't leave a few minutes early, schedules change a bit, and higher ups are more present making sure that you are focused.

I understand the premise. But then again, is it 12+ hours/day 12 months a year, or is it 4-5 months a year? This is like a teacher saying I need 4 weeks of PTO on top of the 2.5 months a year I'm literally not working.

I'm the first to tell you these little decisions are purely for "optics", but at the same time, if a player, group of players, coaches, etc., aren't producing, would they rather have the ping pong table or a reduction in playing time, which will ultimately impact their ability to make $? Accountability comes through actions, not words. Anybody can stand in front of a microphone or a group of reporters and say "we need to be better". What are the things you're doing to be better? If one of those things is "I spent 15 more minutes watching film, rather than 15 minutes shooting pool", THAT'S accountability.

If ping pong tables and dart boards are contributing to our poor play, we have much larger problems.
 
Its obvious at times it seems like this team bot mature enough. I can understand taking the games away and pushing the objective or narrative that we got to stay focus especially if the coaches feel like players keep making silly mistakes. Honestly I would never question Lamar Jackson drive or work ethic but I just never understood why he felt like it was necessarily to stand on the sideline with his big gold chain hanging out. It gave m vibes that he really was focus on shining that day but at the same time that's today's culture of young people.

I think this is just a generational thing honestly. So many guys want to stunt for social media. It doesn't seem like it's going to get better any time soon either.

Yeah for sure lt definitely is a generational thing for sure lol. Im far from old so I get it but sometimes I be thinking they be having their priorities out of order but how can you really say that when it comes to a guy like Lamar or any others that's really do be putting the extra time in to be great and to win. So it is what it is but man it be confusing me lol . I be like come on LJ I see you stunting like its cash money from 1999 to the 2000's but why lol.

There are guys on this team that have personal photographers on the payroll for things like walking into the stadium, pregame warmups, random events, etc. I could have all of the money in the world and that is absolutely not something I'm ever paying for, but guys these days are different. It's become a thing to build a personal brand.
