Hall of Famer
I didn't realize how soft our schedule was, I know people kept saying it but when you look at it, Vikings might be the only game that could be a toss up but things don't get tough for us until December. If Lamar is healthy........
Week 8: Bears 3-2. They play the Saints Sunday so possible this game could go either way but they may be 4-2 when we play them but still should be a win if Lamar is back.
Week 9: Dolphins 1-5. Short week, and traveling to Miami for TNF. Their game on Sunday against Cleveland could go either way, but it's a matter of does Mike McDaniel makes it to this game as Head Coach. Should be a win.
Week 10: Vikings 3-2. Huge road game, but pending on who is QB at the time. Could be Wentz, or could be McCarthy. McCarthy might be the worst option with limited film study with him being injured last year and this year.
Week 11: Browns 1-5. At this point, will Shedeur be starting by this point or will it still be Dillon Gabriel? Huge divisional road game, have to avoid the trap game here.
Week 12: Jets 0-6. Another trap game here, they do play the Browns so I don't think they will be winless by the time we play them here so we will avoid possibly giving them their first win if we lose. Again should be a win, plus who knows who they may have traded by the time this game happens.
Week 13: Bengals 3-4. The start of the AFC North Gauntlet that could determine who wins the Division. The Bengals have some winnable games coming up and if it's a three way race for the AFC North, this is a crucial must win game. Flacco comes home for Thanksgiving and after what we saw tonight, this could be a Lamar-Flacco shootout if our defense doesn't tighten up.
Week 14: Steelers 4-2. The start of December, this is where we need to start peaking at the right time. Another must win divisional game here, we need to make a statement during this 3 game stretch.
Week 15: Bengals 3-4. We're on to Cincinnati again.
Week 16: Patriots 4-2. We were worried about having the tiebreaker over the Bills, well it looks like we'll have to worry about potential tiebreaker implications with the Pats too. This will be a tough game, a lot of our games that are tough are all in December. We need a winning record in December here to get the Division.
Week 17: Packers 3-1. Another tough road game, Lamar's first time playing at Lambeau Field. Should be a good game but we could potentially afford to lose this one as long as we win our division games.
Week 18: Steelers 4-2. In Pittsburgh, this could be for the division on Sunday Night Football in Week 18. Unless there is a scenario where the Bengals have a shot to clinch based on who wins then likely the 4:25PM slot. Just have to find a way to go on a run, clinch BEFORE week 18 so we can avoid any stress and the need to play starters.
