The Random Thought Thread

Also big reminder that the nfl is tax and legally defined as an entertainment industry and not a sports league. If it came out that they were rigging stuff for the chiefs, or anyone, they are "protected" by that. Obviously stuff isn't rigged but it's clearly massaged. Refs literally meet before games and discuss how they want things to go. In the nba many people have come out and said they made game 4 go to a certain team to get revenue for game 5. Everything is bottom line driven, it just sucks we all decided to support a small market team with no players dating celebrities. Yall see how many posts the nfl had of Josh and his gf calling them the cutest couple ever?

Also it pisses me off when people say "why would they rig it for a random small town in Missouri" - Taylor swift and women fandom is the most obvious and clear answer in the world and I can't comprehend that
People would think the nfl doesn't need her to grow the game
I wonder if the reverse is happening though. People are tired of her and the Chiefs and we see it with the plunging ticket prices. We'll have to see the viewership #s after it's said and done to see. But I totally agree the NFL benefited from Taylor and will absolutely capitalize on that.

Gotta say I think the Eagles D is the only one who can slow down Mahomes.

An interesting article in the Wall Street Journal said Andy Reid saves lots of plays they never use during the regular season
for the playoffs . According to the author, that's why the Chiefs are a much better team come playoff time.

The bottom line is Andy Reid is the best coach in the NFL.

Go Eagles ! LOL.

PLEASE. And then he can take his little Hollywood crew with him.

If they lose he’s coming back

I am begrudgingly rooting for the chiefs for multiple reasons now. because NOW if they lose this year, Travis kelce is coming back, and then they will definitely win next year, which means two things: we don’t win next year, and we have to deal with Travis swift another year

Put me out of my misery tonight and save me the pain of next season.

The Saints had a successor in mind for Drew Brees in the name of Patrick Mahomes. They were ready to take him with the 11th overall pick in the 2017 Draft, until the Buffalo Bills traded the 10th Pick to the Chiefs who used that pick to select Patrick Mahomes. So in an alternate timeline.....

"The Cincinnati Bengals have traded the 9th Pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. With the 9th Pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, The New Orleans Saints select Patrick Mahomes, Quarterback, Texas Tech." After sitting on the bench behind Brees for a year, the Saints plan to start Patrick Mahomes in 2018 and are looking to trade Drew Brees. Following their loss in the AFC Championship Game, the Jacksonville Jaguars trade multiple firsts and other picks for Drew Brees as they look to build on their 2017 season. In this timeline, it's Sean Payton & Patrick Mahomes creating a dynasty in New Orleans and wrecking havoc on a weak NFC for years to come. Perhaps Lamar would already be a Super Bowl champion if Mahomes was drafted by the Saints.

Honestly, a Super Bowl 3-peat has never happened before so why wouldn't you retire after doing something like that? Elway went out on top winning back to back but it's unlikely we see this again if it ends up happening. Kelce retiring after tonight would be the best way to go out and close out a Hall of Fame career.

Just so we’re clear, fuck Travis and his career.

Just win tonight and ride off into your gay little sunset you piece of shit, and good riddance.

Agreed. Go Chiefs (tonight). Plus, I just can’t stomach Jalen Hurts winning a Super Bowl before Lamar. If the Chiefs win tonight, hopefully the clown show ends

Uh.... what am I watching lol. Once the game starts, I'm going to pause it and let it build up so I can skip the halftime show.

Everyone saying it was called for hands to the face... lol. If that was true, runningbacks would be penalized for stiff arming players.

NFL really needs to implement some kind of review machine on flags. Who cares if it extends the games. This is getting ridiculous
