For all this talk about the NFL rigging games for the Chiefs..... it sure does seem a bit odd that it has essentially taken over the talk of the town basically. Seen several YouTube videos discussing it, whether the NFL is rigged, fixing games, etc. Even Pat McAfee was talking about it on his show, I know the NFL and the Refs association have come out and denied all this but it's crazy that the NFL has let this become a thing. If Chiefs win, it's only going to get louder.

Obviously it might take a while, but realistically how long until a Tim Donahue situation actually breaks and shakes the NFL to its core?
It is worse because of social media. A certain segment of the population is always looking for a conspiracy, another segment just wants to hate on people for no particular reason. Mix that with over success and this is what you are left with. I was rewatching the last superbowl that the Chiefs played the Eagles.( where most of this started). First you had the complaint of field conditions. Like somehow we had something to do with it because Toma ( who was the NFL Super Bowl landscaper forever) had done something nefarious. But we all played on the same field. There were multiple 50/50 calls that didn’t go the Chiefs way, including at least two bad holds by Bradbury that stopped drive’s prior to the last one. ( that was holding BTW. Lost on the naysayers was the fact that the Chiefs scored 24pts in the second half against the supposedly best defense. This included two walk in red zone touchdowns that were laughable. This takes us to last week… the Bills lost because our coaches and quarterback just play better in big moments. Eight years ago I wouldn’t have said this. Reid used to shrink in big moments and drive me crazy. This current collection is just operating at a very high level.

Btw Lamar got hosed. He was obviously the MVP.

Man what a waste of cap space, for 3 frickn' years!

WR Odell Beckham Jr.

The star wide receiver is not on the 2025 roster, nor was he on the 2024 roster. But his 2023 contract included a void year, and, in a team-friendly deal, he restructured it to include two void years to spread out the dead money. That gave the Ravens relief in 2024 when he accounted for $2.767 million. But they can’t spread it past 2025 and will have to pay Beckham the remaining $8.301 million.
Odell’s one of my favorite WR’s of all time but man this deal was so bad

Jesus we have some bad fans. And this also not acknowledging the bad flags that took away some of his sacks. The defense as a whole took time to gel. Fully expect the team to come out hot to start next season. Would love to open up with the Chiefs again.

This about BK? He had a strong season, he just didn’t have a double digit sack season, most DTs never do, even most of the absolute greatest DTs ever, never see double digit sacks.

He faced double teams iirc more than any player in our front, and had a strong season, like you said he had quite a few sacks overruled by flags, and most if not all of them were bullshit

That is NOT the guy to come after for this seasons end result

and he was largely doing it and drawing all that attention with no one else on the line that offences were worried about, hence the high double-team rate

this front is just crying out for a playmaker at EDGE who's an actual consistent threat

I mean we were one of only 3 teams with both starting EDGE to get 10+ sacks so even this seems a bit silly to whine about. I feel like its a bit crazy that a home grown premium position guy like Oweh has settled into a 10 sack guy who makes plays against the run also, runs down Qb scrambles and gets absolutely no love from the fan base. I don't think an extension for him has been brought up once in here.

He's been inconsistent and I'm an Oweh fan. He's also had his 5th year option picked up and we're tight against the cap. Of all the players we have needing new deals, can you say he's at the top of the list?

his sacks may have gone up, but his win rate and pressure rate came down.

Oweh disappears for incredibly long periods and does essentially nothing for long stretches. He’s very feast or famine as a pass rusher. Every time I watch him I’m just disappointed in his lack of impact. If he doesn’t hustle his way into a sack it seems he doesn’t even affect the play.

He hasn’t been a bad player, but he hasn’t produced pass rush the way you would want from a first rounder who you give a second contract

Oweh had one of the quietest double digit sack seasons I think I’ve ever seen lol

sacks happen for all sorts of reasons
how often is oweh winning off the edge?
how often is KVN winning off the edge?

and when they win, how and why are they winning?

and how much of their sack production is clean-ups, free rushes, coverage sacks etc.
are they also producing pressures (which is more consistent of a metric year on year and game to game)

We've heard of voter fatigue.... this is what we call Chiefs Fatigue. Prices for Superbowl tickets have dropped a ton.

Also big reminder that the nfl is tax and legally defined as an entertainment industry and not a sports league. If it came out that they were rigging stuff for the chiefs, or anyone, they are "protected" by that. Obviously stuff isn't rigged but it's clearly massaged. Refs literally meet before games and discuss how they want things to go. In the nba many people have come out and said they made game 4 go to a certain team to get revenue for game 5. Everything is bottom line driven, it just sucks we all decided to support a small market team with no players dating celebrities. Yall see how many posts the nfl had of Josh and his gf calling them the cutest couple ever?

Also it pisses me off when people say "why would they rig it for a random small town in Missouri" - Taylor swift and women fandom is the most obvious and clear answer in the world and I can't comprehend that
People would think the nfl doesn't need her to grow the game

Once I saw that plus Lamar not being there, I knew what time it was. When the Bills were playing the Pats in BUF, Allen threw an INT in the end zone. I think it was the NFL on CBS account called it an arm punt. I'm like here we go....

PLEASE. And then he can take his little Hollywood crew with him.
