The Random Thought Thread

HOF voting seems weird this year, with only 4 total getting in. They have some guarantees (Brees, Larry Fitz) next year so they just created more of a backlog just so some guys that are definite HOFers didn’t get first ballot. If they’re HOF worthy, they’re HOF worthy. Just vote them in.
 
Willie Anderson, Torry Holt, Luke Kuechly, and Adam Vinatieri were apparently the next 4 that didn’t make the cutoff this year.

Suggs, Yanda, nor Steve Smith in the top 8.

I've said they need to slowdown just letting people in for the hell of it. Recently has felt like they were trying to meet a quota. And no one will convince me Eli should be in the HoF
 
If Josh really does win, this whole thing is an absolute joke. Darnold should have won CPOTY too. We’re just handing out sympathy-awards now. Congrats, media - you got exactly what you wanted. They pushed this agenda till the very end

They did some stupid thing where you have to have 80% of the vote or whatever. They trying to be like Baseball which is dumb. No reason for this class to be only 4 players, like you said it's going to create more of a backlog in the future.

I don’t disagree. Just feels weird to tell a player no when there’s an open spot when you know they’re getting in… they just didn’t want them to be first ballot.
 
I just don’t buy “voter fatigue”

LOL... the NFL had everything ready to talk how Josh wasn't recruited, he was a zero star recruit, etc. Never have I seen an award so forced before like this. Guess the NFL felt bad for Burrow missing the playoffs so they robbed Darnold of Comeback player of the Year.

What a joke.

I keep saying that the football gods do NOT want us to prosper offensively long-term. Zay is the first Ravens WR to break 1,000 yards and gets hurt. And now this. I never thought Henry was getting OPOY. But whatever.

SB MVP is all I care about for him.
