The Random Thought Thread

I mean the NFC QB throne might as well be made out of paper mache. The top QB in the NFC would not be a top 5 QB in the AFC which just goes to show the gap that exists right now.
Oh yeah I don’t disagree. Think Daniels is the one guy right now that looks positioned to put himself in that convo though. There’s so much to like there. Curious to see how he grows. It’s his for the taking.

Jayden Daniels seems poised to take over the NFC throne in the next few years as long as they continue to build around him. So much poise. He feels completely in command (no pun intended) of that team.

Eagles feel like a team that should be a lot better than they are. Those trenches are so fucking good, and they have plenty of playmakers on each side of the ball outside of that, but it just feels like they’re not on the same page. They could be really scary if they put it all together.

Other random thought of the day is that Tom Brady has gotten so much better at his job and I might kind of like him in the booth now. Feels like he’s stopped forcing things to feel likable, and is just out there spouting ball knowledge and getting the same result.
Eagles are seriously underperforming

You are right about Daniels, what a fun kid to watch. Rookies are not supposed to play like that. It will be interesting to watch this next game for sure. I really hope he gets Philly too but it will be tough.

My feelings on Philly are similar. They have a lot of talent on their team all the way around. But they seem very beatable. Hurts is not a top tier quarterback. His accuracy is sporadic and decisions can be suspect. I think that they may have lost yesterday if the Packers hadn’t lost their whole team the last couple weeks. The main reason is Sirianni, his antics are getting old and it shows.

eagles defence feels pretty scary to me
but that offence with hurts does not scare me that much

I'm convinced most top 20 QBs can be put in and perform at or above Hurts level. Maybe more. Howie did a hell of a job constructing that team.

His poise is amazing. Never looked shaken. When they went for that 1st 4th down play what went through my head was this team respects him like a seasoned vet. The faith that staff has in him felt similar to what you see from a 10 year pro.

And they have a prime opportunity to build around him. Get him a better blindside protector (I think Coleman would excel sliding in at LG) and a WR2 and that team could take off.

Jayden Daniels really does feel like he could be a top 5 QB for years to come. Will be interesting to see if he has that sophomore slump like Stroud did. His poise and deepball accuracy is going to be a problem in the NFC. Honestly wouldn't hate it if people were to say he's the best QB in the NFC right now as a rookie. He has looked that good and I hope they continue to build around him. Need to get an explosive RB behind him, Robinson isn't it.

he's had a great rookie year
let's see how he does when teams have a year of film - he did well against the bucs attacking the middle of the field but he'll have to prove that over and over again next season

Stroud is the obvious cautionary tale here. He also looked like he was going to take that step into an elite tier and it just got worse this year - doesn't help that they had a ton on injuries and the OL sucked ass, but Stroud regressed too. Would like to see Daniels take that next step before I anoint him but I think he's been arguably more impressive even if the stat book doesn't show it.

Was gonna say the same

I still think Stroud is a top 10 QB still, unfortunately has a really bad o-line and Slowik didn't draw up any 3 step dropbacks for Stroud pretty much all season to get the ball out quickly.

Pretty sad that "first round talent stolen in the 3rd round" Trenton Simpson who had the LUXURY of red shirting under Ro and PQ is totally ass cheeks and is worse than Chris Board.
