They'd be stupid to do so. To the players who are on expiring (or team-friendly) contracts, quitting would make it harder for them to find another team at a price they want.

A bunch of company men here. Watson didn’t deserve another shot at the nfl, a majority of browns fans were embarrassed that not only did they make a move for Deshaun Watson, but they burned the entire league in the process by offering the first fully guaranteed contract, and whole time they could’ve just kept baker.I swear Browns players can't read the room when it comes to Deshaun Watson. Browns players need to understand that certain behaviors should bar people from having this privilege, and most nfl fans feel Watson should’ve never gotten another shot in the nfl.

I disagree that the majority were embarrassed. I read some pushback but most were excited to have what they thought was a high caliber QB to take them back to the playoffs.

I’m kinda worried about the opposite. That team now has a chip on its shoulder. They just upgraded, massively, at QB, and bringing in a backup has been shown to light a spark for an offense.
The only positive is Cooper is gone so they don’t really have anyone dangerous to throw to and I suspect Chubb will still be on a pitch count.
There was a LOT of pushback, but I think most of their fans were taking the “whelp he is the QB no matter what we think of him as a person and at least he can do that” only to discover he actually can’t even do that.
I will say though that if he were playing well the amount of people cheering would have been FAR less.

Certainly agree with that last part. Winning overshadows a lot and people love a comeback story if it benefits them.
