The Random Thought Thread

it would be and he is a free agent. Think I had also brought it up after the Cleveland game after witnessing his play first hand

If we could poach him that would be great, we're in a great salary cap position in 2020 and could definitely use a top signal caller in the middle.

I suspect the Ravens will not have to deal with Myles Garrett for the rematch with the Browns (although Rudolph is bloody fool for going after him).

I have my doubts he will be suspended on December 22nd. The NFL doesn't always do the right thing

As a perfectly unbiased viewer, I'm not sure how Rudolph didn't have a penalty called on him and I'm also not sure why Pouncey wasn't also ejected. What the Browns did was absolutely unacceptable, but Rudolph definitely started by having 2 hands ripping at Garrett's helmet and Pouncey through multiple punches and attempted to kick Garrett in the head.

Yeah this is unprecedented and a terrible look. Mum's across the US are probably already pulling their kids from football to play soccer. I doubt it's a slap on the wrist.

It looked like Rudolph didnt like being wrestled to the ground after getting rid of the ball and grabbed at Myles helmet. Pouncey might get off because he reacted to helmet shot, or maybe not.

I saw on Reddit Antonio Smith got suspended 3 games for trying to hit an olineman with his own helmet.

What do you get for actually hitting a QB in the head with his helmet?

Rudolph has every right to not like the way he was wrestled down especially after releasing the ball. HOWEVER, taking two hands and pulling at Garrett's helmet is one stupid, and two unacceptable. In the league trhy have especially recently called roughing the passer like crazy. They didn't call it that play, so it wasn't terribly egregious. So I'd say Rudolph is definitely in the wrong. But the level that he is in the wrong is a stupid penalty. What Garrett does is potentially criminally wrong. Truly unacceptable. Now I'm all for Pouncey protecting his guy, but did you see what DeCastro did, wrapped him up and was largely effective at stopping him by bringing him to the ground. Pouncey goes ape shit and throws punches and kicks. That is also unacceptable. Finally Ogunjobi throws Rudolph down in the back for no real reason. Unacceptable.

pretty sure pouncey was ejected

i think garrett, ogunjobi and pouncey were all ejected as i recall

rudolph may end up with a suspension for throwing punches (surprised that didnt happen at the time) but the others all got ejected already

nfl sources have already said they will be reviewing the actions of every player involved for possible suspensions and fines etc.

Oh OK. Thanks. As long as Pouncey was also ejected, I believe they did the right thing at the time of altercation.

They'll make an example of Garrett so it doesnt happen again. 16 games I think.

based on precedent the NFLPA would have to appeal a suspension like that - i think what you'll probably end up with is the rest of this season which is in-line with the 5 game suspension (largest ever given for on-field action) given to haynesworth

The league actively protects QBs so anyone reacting on Rudolphs behalf might get a pass. I think Ogunjobi might get a suspension too for hitting him afterwards.

1. Garrett started by ripping Rudolph to the ground by wrapping his lower body and twisting, Rudolph had every right to get pissed
2. It’s entirely possible Rudolph’s glove got stuck in his face mask, watch his left hand on replay
3. Pouncey was ejected
4. I’m putting blame on Garrett and ogunjobi here and that’s it, fck that. I don’t care what happened you don’t swing a goddamn weapon at someone’s skull

This isn't parody account, I just watched Kitchens' presser, he really said that:

And kept on harping how Garrett must keep composure with 5 seconds left in the game. WTF? So if he did it middle of the 3rd quarter, it'd be OK? Helmet-to-helmet?

This guy is just incredibly stupid.
