The Random Thought Thread

Not like crime or anything, just poorly managed everything, hotels in the nice area have outrageous price tags, on gamedays or any day with an event it can take 20 minutes to travel 2 miles, and there honestly isn’t much to do. The area directly surrounding the stadium is pretty shitty and run down, mostly abandoned apartment buildings and warehouses, the harbor has no appeal unless you wanna go to one of I think 3 restaurants, the aquarium was barren last time I saw it, it honestly isn’t worth the price tag imo.

Arundel Mills is a STELLAR mall with a massively successful casino and multiple hotels right on the lot, a ton of quality restaurants and other entertainment, it’s about 1 mile from the airport, and it’s high end spacious suburban development, I feel like a canned sardine every time I go to downtown Baltimore.

For my bucks worth, I will always suggest arundel Mills over downtown for a weekend stay
The aquarium is barren? Maybe it just me as a fish guy, but I could go there everyday. I'd live there if they'd let me. But I also don't get to go there too often, so that could be the reason too.

Glen Burnie, suburb outside of Baltimore in AA County, not ideal either but living anywhere in Baltimore city to me is just ass, most of it is run down and crumbling and most of the people are genuinely shit.
You're moving in right direction. Once those $$ start coming, I see 50 foot sailboat and Flex in Annapolis.

Oh and @redrum52 if this is your first time, get to the stadium grounds no later than 9am, the tailgating is absolutely epic at the bank, I’ve seen one other stadium tailgate and holy shit the comparison is night and day

i went about 3 years ago on 4th of July for a special they were having, it looks outdated, poorly lit and maintained, lots of empty exhibits, i was disappointed, that place was epic when I was a kid.

Would love to, but flight isn't getting in until around 10. Want to get there as early possible for the real experience, but it's going to be an awkward situation. Probably getting drunk on the flight in and stumbling into the stadium around 11:30-12. Going for the Bucs game.

Have you ever had to commute near Annapolis? Lol no thanks m8, Ritchie highway near annapolis can suck a bag of dicks.

If I had my way I’d be on the East end of Pasadena. Or South Carolina, fuck this state in general

lol
ill try and parse out what it could have been but i feel like it wont have been a prescription thing, and if it was a suspension thing then we would have heard about it/harbs wouldnt have described it as unique

i wonder if it could be something related to previous suspensions or something where he had to do certain things but maybe couldnt because of the injury idk...

That’s a damn shame. I figured you were staying for a weekend or something. Also, try out some flying dog while you’re here, shitload of brews and they’re all great.

Who cares about the commute if $$ are in the bank? Just get on the bay.

The last time I went was probably early this year, and I didn't get that feeling. I also don't have much to compare it to, there was a long gap from when I was a toddler to my early teens when we didn't go to the aquarium. I don't remember much before the Australian exhibit and the black tip reef was put in.

Side story: my dad is one of the volunteer divers, and my mom and I would go visit while he was feeding the fish when I was a baby. He took a break when I was 3ish, but re-joined about 4 years ago. It's pretty cool to watch him now that I'm old enough to remember these things.

Didn't you say you went to the Bucs game in 2014? If so, we should be in good shape.

Although if you are staying close to Little Italy you can eat at Amicci and have dessert at Vaccaros.

Could also stay in one of the areas off of 695.

If you like Crab Cakes I'd go to G & M in Linthicum MD or Jimmy's Seafood.

2nd favorite place on earth after negril.

But then again I’ve only seen those 2 places plus Montego Bay

Loved negril but haven't been since I was a kid. Ocho Rios fun too and Montego Bay nice and less touristy. My mom lives out in the country where it's boring as hell though. Kingston is fun as well as St Elizabeth.
