The Random Thought Thread

It's built up. Not just Jensen but K.O and Wagner walked. We didn't really do a good job of replacing them, Wagner maybe, I like what I see from Zeus and might be an elite RT and far greater then Wagner. I can't wait.

How on Earth did he fall to round 3?
Combine

He's allegedly not going to play for at least two games maybe more. He didn't require surgery but something is up with his toe. Both the Ravens and Browns are on BYE this week. Steelers have a home game vs. CAR and CIN plays at home versus visiting Saints. Hopefully the Saints help us and have a physical game so it puts CIN in a bad spot for our game. We need NO to beat CIN and would prefer CAR beats PIT but that's no longer required because we aren't likely to catch PIT.
Obviously, it's #KeepPounding and #WhoDat for this week, but any hopes for winning the division were dashed the moment we lost yesterday. The Chargers look to be a lock for one of the wildcard spots which leaves us (lol), the Bengals, and Dolphins.

which im pretty sure is now outlawed
Oh it is. Nonetheless, it was still a comical ending because the Bengals players were more interested in fighting our players than going for Koch.

I know people are not going to like me saying this, but releasing Joe after this season saves 10M in cap. He's most likely going to be trading because whether you like it or not, he levels beyond a bottom 15 QB. A SB contender would give up a lot to have him and people don't realize that. If we don't get any trade offers that we like I can imagine him sticking around for one more year.

Would love to see him in Jax to see what ramsey would have to say then

They have no cap space to sign him but him joining the Jaguars would be dangerous. He most likely would head to Denver. That's a team who is a QB away from being a big time contender.

Wouldn't that be ironic AF? Given the Mile High Miracle (was watching the game with a close friend who's a Broncos fan) and how we got Dumervil, that'd damn near be "poetic justice."

So I have this theory(which is made up with no basis in reality)that he sand bagged his combine so he would fall to the Ravens. lol Whatever, I’m ecstatic that we were able to get him.

Losing KO hurt, no doubt. But losing Jensen without looking for a viable replacement has been devastating to this year’s efforts.

because of all the signing bonus parts attached to his cap hits - flacco is an incredibly good deal (for the other team) in a trade scenario because his cap hit would be fully non-guaranteed and 20m/yr for the first 2 years (and only 25m in the final year of the deal) which is after the CBA anyway and also will be basically nothing for a franchise-type qb

so there will probably be suitors if we are getting rid of him

Following the Titans win and Cowbpys loss, we have IMPROVED our draft spot from 16... to 15!!! Suck for Bos.... Raiders already won it never mind. Suck for.....??

Well guess how many letters "Baltimore Ravens" have. You guessed it, 15. It was meant to be.

This is one of the reasons he should not be benched in favor of Lamar just now. While it makes total sense to start Lamar I think we need to let him learn right now. Let Flacco play and improve his stats to his highest yards thrown in his career. We may end up with a 7-9, 8-8 or if we are really lucky a 9-7 record. We won't make the playoffs but Flacco's trade value will improve. I think we may land a second round pick for him if there is a suitor.

Good point, I definitely think he'll have a big market, It depends on what we could get for him, as long as we get something good for him. If a trade doesn't work in our favor we might end up keeping him.

If there is a team dumb enough to give up a 2nd round pick please let them. I think Joe would need to go on a tear to get us a second round pick. Then again maybe there’s a coach out there who thinks he can who knows. Let’s call Oakland doesn’t Gruden like Flacco?

With joes contract I think the best he can get us is a third
The guarantees are in play though. Any team who has a bad first year with can let him go with no penalty.

Plus Brock Osweieler got 72M from Houston and traded a 2nd round pick to get rid of him. Can we rule anything out? I think he can get us a 2nd but I definitely wouldn’t bet on it.

Correction: dead money would be at 8M with cap savings at 20m if we were to release him after next year, I don’t know what that would be for any other team.

I think it would be as well but he’s perfect for a team that’s a QB away from contending. I wouldn’t want to give him to them though, I don’t want us to help them win a SB.

Brock osweiler looked like he was on the uptick and just starting to develop. Flacco has proven that he has regressed to a garbage tier qb for about 3 straight years now.

How has Flacco been “garbage tier” this year? He’s played very well in several games and has had an about average season. Chill out with the overreactions

This season hes been ok. Still doesn't mean it washes away the funk from the previous 2.

I'd be shocked if a team really traded for him because most teams seem to fill the need last year. And most of the teams that need one now either have lame duck coaches you could ride out a tanking season with or are in position to draft highly anyway. Who knows though. The other thing is I'm not even sure the Ravens would trade him next year.
If a new coach is brought in it would make sense to me to let them have a choice for a year before just shoving Lamar in as a starter.
