Obviously, I wouldn't want to see it in a dome game, but I wouldn't mind seeing our all-blacks in a primetime game on the road. I think we missed a great opportunity to do it against the Rams in '19.

could have been cool but also because of the light til late there it never felt like a night game - the colour rush worked pretty nicely in that game

the all-blacks have to come out in the dark lol not in late-afternoon

A big thanks for this

Would wonder if you need like some sort of "approval" from the hosting team to wear an alternative home uniform in a road stadium.

Technically, it would work for a late afternoon east coast game since it's usually dark by around 5 PM.

As long as it's not following the same color pattern, teams don't need approval. NFL rules only dictate that the home team picks first and then the road team has to pick a jersey with an opposite color pattern. Basically, we could wear our black jerseys against any team on the road, provided that they don't choose a black jersey option. The only caveat is that NFL rules also say that teams are only allowed to wear an "alternate" jersey for up to one preseason game and two regular season games per year.

I mean I haven't looked up the rules, but I'm pretty sure you rarely see any games where both teams are wearing "home" color uniforms. I.e., if we play in Washington, and they're wearing red, I don't think we're allowed to wear purple. Otherwise, teams would rarely wear white road uniforms, yet everybody has them.

Cool. You're also one person. The minority, not the majority.
Look around society today. Most people don't even have principles. You walked away from a fantasy league after a week, screwing up a lot of it for a lot of people on these boards, and you didn't have the principle to come in and tell anybody you weren't playing. And then when you got called out for it, you made a little courtesy roster move or two, and then went back on to not caring. Where does that fall into the category of "principles"?

People talk about principles. They don't walk the walk.
one week. Fuck it, he didn't even draft.

this is correct

That would only happen when the teams home colors are white. Now I'm not sure what teams where white at home, but I think the Cowboys where white at home and I know the Skins for the longest time wore white at home, but I don't think they are anymore. However in those circumstances we would be able to wear our all blacks.

For those that haven't figured it out by now... I was lobbing softballs in there for most of the conversation, baiting for the "its about principles" argument, just so I could pull out the "might not be wise to lecture others about principles in this setting, while you've been called out publicly already for a lack of principles" concept, which worked wonderfully might I add.

Anyway, to put a bow on it, it was never about principles. All three of the guys who did the fake vax card have long since gotten the jab. That's been confirmed through multiple media outlets. So this was never about principle. It was about a dumbass being a dumbass and doing another dumbass thing that cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars and may very well end up costing him more if the Bucs decide to cut him, which evidently there's consideration of.

Based on the always popular Wikipedia, if the home uniform is colored (not white or gray), the road team has to wear a color that doesn't contrast with the home color. Apparently the NFL basically has leeway to enforce this as they see fit, so basically, pretty much any color vs color scheme they're going to say is contrast, hence why they primarily hone in on white/gray for road games.

And yes, the whole white road uniform thing is pretty much derived entirely from TV. Back when games weren't televised as often and/or nobody cared, home color vs home color was the norm in games.

Probably has to be a jersey of a different designation as well so if WFT wears their "home" red jerseys, we would have to either use our "road" whites or we could choose to use our "alternate" black jerseys, provided that we haven't already used them for the allowed 2 games max.

Right, but I'm guessing that the NFL would just say that black contrasts too much with red and wouldn't allow us to wear it. White's basically a complementary color for almost any uniform combination, which is why they prefer it.

I mean it could just be that teams want their alternative uniforms at home, but yes, I would think that a team would want to maybe go alternate uniform for like a rivalry game or something if they could, but just seems like it never happens. And my guess is because the NFL just sort of nixes it.

Dave Chappelle also took the more popular stance on his topic, nationally, and he has a large platform of people who will pay him more money now, in certain parts of the country, for that stance.

They're different topics entirely.
Popular? Man Dave had his whole character trashed up and down, they said he went crazy, said he was smoking crack, said all kinds of shit to tear him down. His stance didn’t become a popular one until around 2016 or so when he started opening up about it and showing back up in the spotlight

OK we're talking about different "stances" then. I was referencing his most recent basically Transphobic (though not really that) stance. There's a lot of people upset about it, but what he said is also what the majority of people think anyway, and just don't have the balls to say it. And his career won't lose much steam long run for it.

Personally, I feel like black against red would be okay. Now, if we decided to try and use the color rush purple instead then I think that would probably be shot down. I feel like there has to be some kind of leeway though as long as the colors aren't too close together.

Yeah we were discussing how the populace sees someone who turns down hundreds on millions on principles, chappelle was the example that came to mind.

my point was basically that the way things look now based on popular opinion and public perception doesn’t always age well. Not that I think ABs situation is gonna age well, just saying a bunch of shit because it’s a forum and fuck it why not
