WR/RB Thread

Can’t really say that. Smith went over 1000 yards in 2014 and was on pace for than that in 2015. Maybe he wasn’t a top 5 to 10 #1, but he was a number 1 wideout. Unless you are referring to the draft, then yeah, I agree.
Smitty was OK in 2014 so if you want to consider his contributions that one year as a #1 I’ll give you that, but not what I was thinking of when saying “dependable #1”. If you recall he would completely disappear for games, most likely due to injuries we didn’t know about. Regardless, pretty pitiful WR group for the past 5 years. But hey, who knows. Maybe Whalen turns into the find of the decade! lol

I think in 2014 and 2015 up until he was injured he played well. But overall still have a terrible receiver group.

2014 he disappeared for a little bit during the middle of the season but 2015 he was on pace in receptions and yards to have i think potentially the best statistical year of his career and was at the top of the wr list in terms of stats next to the typical wr 1s - he and keenan allen were tearing up the nfl until that game where they both got injured and ended up on i/r by the next game

Yeah they were both tearing it up 2015 then both got injured the same game. I know I had them both in fantasy lmao. Ruptured kidney and achilles killed me. 2016 he couldn't get back to form because of injury and age unfortunately.

and a lack of offence around him - flacco throwing badly, an unused running game, no tight end production

So you mean every season as a Ravens fan lmao. I think it just hurts more looking at every other division opponent having weapons. Maybe I'll feel better once AJ Green, Antonio Brown, and LeVeon Bell leave town.

nah - coz we'll be dealing with juju, joe mixon, john ross for the future...

It’s worsw when even the Redskins have an offense

Just heard it may be that Boldin wants to play again. Bills would seek a trade.

Yeah it came down before the game - the bills have given his agent permission to contact teams with the idea of trading to a place closer to his family (im guessing a Florida team then)

Hey there's no other WRs that can play center.

There will be a load of WRs from the 2014 class free agents this late winter early spring. There are talented receivers from that class that could be borderline NO. 1 that are strapped down depth charts. Jeff Janis has always produced when given opportunity. Paul Richardson is very dynamic. He got off to a slow start cuz of injuries and a crowded WR unit in Seattle of vets and high draft picks.

My favorites come from Jacksonville. Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee are a tandem of the most complete catchers you will find!! Can run sudden precise routes and create separation at any point within the route with a sudden move or physicality. Any one of the 2 can turn a short catch into a big play. And the tandem fronts big play speed. Especially Marqise Lee. He runs by tacklers like nobody is moving. And any one of them can climb the ladder if covered. Marqise is more explosive but Robinson at 6'3 is gifted at attacking the football.

The sweet thing is Marqise and Robinson are bargains cuz poor QB play caused by a horrid atrocious offensive line. Nobody has saw yet what these dudes can really do if the stars line up. Same could be said of Paul Richardson. However while Marqise is over his minor injuries bug. Paul has legit injury probs. I don't care what the workout numbers say. He is one of most explosive WRs I ever saw. And he plays far faster than Perriman ever has.

Then there is Sammy Watkins who has some probs. But has all world skills that Perriman could only dream of. Robinson and Marqise are most sure things. I would definitely go WR in free agency and offensive line heavy in the draft. This draft could and should have 3 offensive lineman and a WR taken. The defense has enough attention.

The verdict, Marqise or Robinson would look sweet in the ravens offense. Marqise Lee is one of my favorite college players ever!! I liked Robinson a lot as well. I swear in 2014 I thought he was the pick in round2. I Said to everybody it has to be Robinson. We missed Marqise which sucked. But I was as cool with Robinson. Then it was Jernigan.

Anyways as much as I like Marqise. I would prefer ravens go after Allen Robinson as their NO.1 priority. He is a total freak that displays functional 4.47 game speed. He is a freak climbing the ladder and making the acrobatic catch. But the most impressive thing about the dude is the sharp sudden fluid routes he can run at 6'3 216 lbs!! I mean it is very very impressive!! He runs routes as sudden and fluid as a 5'9 slot receiver. As a matter of fact he works the slot at times. As awesome as his big play skills are. His route running and shifty elusive run after catch is the most impressive awesome aspect of his game. Not many big 6'3 217lb WRs can run routes and make tacklers miss like he can. Playing in a terrible system last year with an embarrassing Offensive Line has held him back. As good as he is. Nobody has saw his best as of yet. He has Alshon Jeffrey ball skills with slot receiver route running skills. Ravens need to make him priority

with less then 10 mil cap space, only 49 players under contract and the draft , id prefer the ravens make jensen and collins the priority.

Collins in 2nd year. Believe we have control of him for a couple more at reasonable salaries thru restricted status. Jensen is gonna be the tough one and the only ufa I'm concerned about.
